I think the Morley contract is just about protecting the value of your asset. Regardless as to whether we think he’s good enough to progress with us, he’s still a relatively young midfielder with loads of L1 experience and so has a bit of value in him if we were to let go - only if he’s in contract though, even if it’s say £200k that we could get for him then without that contract extension you’ve just written it off.

Morley has gone backwards, there’s no doubt about it and I’m not in any way trying to pin this on Evatt. But just based on how good we know he can be, it would be very interesting to see if a different manager could get a tune out of him again, whether it’s here or somewhere else. In my opinion he’s got more natural ability than most in our squad (Maghoma did a Q&A the other day and Morley was his answer to “who’s got the best right foot in the squad”) - something has gone flat for him though.

Said before, had a shocker against Wigan and one of their players got in his head, went downhill from there. 

He's just had a kid too, which could have had an impact on him, 

still 49 appearances and 5 goals..isnt a bad return for a "bad season"

Went for a brilliant curry at Rajdoot off baker st after the game. Loads of Bolton in there. My lad says it’s better than Shapla in Adlington & that’s some accolade. Took the edge off a shit display from the whites….

The only good thing about the entire day yesterday was before the game when we were watching the players warm up. Our Head Kitman came over to get my attention and pointed at my lad - then threw him an official play-off final first team shirt signed by the entire squad. My lad was absolutely fucking beaming. He felt like the luckiest kid in the stadium. That'll be our only lasting memory of an otherwise miserable day.

Looked at the team that played in the PJT final, and had forgotten Declan John had played.

I can't believe Evatt used to criticise his defending given the players he's brought in since.

Have we actually improved in that position?

Dacres-Cogley ending up as a LWB, which to the best of my knowledge he hasn't done all season, will be a standout WTF moment in a day full of them.

Evatt is a fucking tactical desert; if what has been planned on the Thursday doesn't work, he and us are fucked.

The only time the wing-backs have really worked well consistently is when we've had loanees from the PL playing there

weve never done it, and we know we’ve players that will sometimes not be quite up to it, but everyone gets game time.

Obviously, we want to win trophies, but having a squad of players who enjoy what they do and play football every week is way more important to me than my own ego.

Some managers at U16 level are fucking wankers who think they’re running a premier league club.
