I remember playing Zenit, under Megson, in horrendous conditions, where we had to extend the pitch to meet minimum UEFA Cup regulations. Inside the revised touchline was a groove, where the linesman ran up and down. In no time at all there was a foot-wide stream about 4 feet inside the touchline. Quote

Wanderlust Posted May 12 Posted May 12 So I believe as we finished higher than Oxford in the league we get to choose our kit which will presumably be white. Will they then let Oxford play in yellow? Could be well dodgy on a sunny day. Quote
captainmed Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Northamptons last gasp equaliser at Barnsley meant we played a team and club in disarray, instead of Oxford. Peterborough would have beaten Barnsley too and got to Wembley. We now avoid the clear second favourites Peterborough in the final. It’s fallen into our lap and after a season where second chances have been squandered time after time, we have yet another one. If we can’t beat Oxford United then we don’t deserve to be promoted. Simple. Let’s see if we have the bottle, because we sure as hell have far more ability than our opponents. Quote

For any part of the last few months, the opponents we've all talked about needing to see off to get promoted, excluding Pompey, were Derby, Pompey and Barnsley. All looked to be very difficult to shake off, yet we've been able to lose 2, draw 1 and win 1 against those, and here we are "just" having to beat a team none of us have really considered until a week ago. We don't even have to play the surprise package/form team, Lincoln. Its a dream match, on paper. Quote

They wore sky blue in our 5-0 win, could be an element of them not wanting to wear the same kit as they did on that night. Quote

The previous 2 play offs against day tripping types (Reading, Watford), I felt the initiative in the 1st half was affected by us being outnumbered. Plymouth did outnumber us slightly last year but everyone was lifted by our turn out/atmosphere and that positivity wouldn't go amiss for the 1st half hour or so. Quote

Being slightly outnumbered as per last season (39k Vs 35k) was no problem, it's when the outnumbering is significant, like Vs Stoke, that the sight of the fans definitely adds the 5%. I'm just hoping Oxford don't have the regional day tripper pull Plymouth did last year. Quote

Wasn’t an issue against Preston. What we take will have no outcome on the game whatsoever in my opinion Quote

So unless you are good mates with a season ticket holder, member or someone who is a registered user from a few weeks ago then you won't be getting a ticket. I think they won't be bringing as many as they could. Quote
