Anyhow, she's certainly not the only bugger to be declared bankrupt, and still fiddle money etc.

I know one mon who has done it several times. Knows every trick in the book; opens different companies, gets as many benefits as he can, doesn't pay what he owes etc.

Costs over £35bn per year, about 5% of total tax, but that is what they know about.

Does not include loopholes or the interest that would be earned if they collected money properly. 
 

Does not include anything that falls between the fact that PAYE and Self Certification are 2 totally separate systems.

i have spent a lot of time with HMRC in last couple of years chasing their errors.

They suggested I'd fiddled my books by massively underdeclaring for 2020-21, because my income for both 19-20 and 21-22 were considerably higher.

I advised them to go away and check what effect a global pandemic had on the travel industry.
