I just listened to Evatt and Johnston's interviews. They mentioned that it's a tough place to go and that they're big and physical and their fans rallied behind them. Cambridge United. 22nd in Le

Having everyone in the box at corners is shit when the opposition have 11 men on the field, doing it when they have 10 is just pathetic.

  • Evatt shouldn’t be allowed anyway near any room where discussions about January signings are taking place.

Shows how bad a division it is we have been poor for a while now but are still in the mix

We're not in the mix.

It looks like we are, but we really aren't.

Its not fucking coaching

Unless mcatee needs telling not to let Andrews have it on his left foot

If he does, I may concede the point :)

We have conceded a lot from crosses this season though. You can't always stop the cross, but we consistently defend crosses poorly.

Can't be letting Rico off the hook their either. Should of attacked that cross. His man scored.

Worst thing Wiggin in 2 weeks and they have hit some sort of form!

Spotted that.

I don’t care if we win the next 2 before they turn up. If they leave with 3 points for the 3rd year running then he has to go

Terrible, losing a lead against 10 men is unacceptable, leaving a fre man for a header and then almost concede a second with another free header when you have a spare man, suggests to me in that area and many others they are rather poorly coached and/or have poor awareness/marking etc

2 points threw away against 10 men, 10 men who are bottom 3, it should be the end of IE, but that's clearly not gonna happen.

Marking space is the new marking up.  Pep does it so we do it.

Only suprise was it wasn't Kachunga that scored.

Awful game, and another where I'd struggle to say who our best player was

Has to be either the ref or their mon who slapped George.

There must have been a shout to go 4 at the back and get some width and tempo down the flanks when they went to ten men.

You missed the first part of my comment. Of course it's the coaching to be bringing 11 men back for all set pieces, that's how we play.

Leave a striker forward and the opposition can't pack as many men in the box for the inevitable second phase ball in because we don't push out.

As to a striker showing their player onto their weaker foot, I agree. But strikers aren't always the best at defending, so another reason to leave one up front.

The point about the coaching is we invite this pressure on ourselves

Come on

That balls going to Andrews and im sat mumbling 'put him on his right'

If i know that, McAtee has to know

If he does that Andrews either retreats or down the line and kicks with his stump

Plus, i think the cross is so good, you have to hold your hands up

You'd have thought so

Criminal keeping with that system with a man advantage

This is where he falls short

Not 1 cu player would get in our team. We are again less than the sum of our parts. Matate is awful. Yes gt needed subbing but why all the others. Vic brings nothing. We are locked in with evatt like a high interest mortgage. Sad and annoying

We seem to be conceding an awful lot of goals from crosses this season too, with 3 centre backs that just shouldn’t be happening. Clearly something very wrong with defensive organisation for that to be happening.

We don’t seem to like recruiting players who like heading the ball which doesn’t help either. We were crying out for couple of big bastards over the transfer windows and instead we’ve signed a load of show pony’s.

Well that was fucking appalling.

I can only see three scenarios going into the Jan transfer window;

1. he's gone beforehand, and new manager gets cash to strengthen

2. he's still here, but they don't trust him to spend any more cash

3. he's still here and they throw a shitload more dosh at him

Two of those three scare the shit out of me.

Keep getting the impression the players are just going through the motions

How many times have we played well for a whole game this season . Peterborough at home ?

Not taking anything away from that performance because it was good, but the intensity and attacking intent was maintained because it was 0-0.  If we'd scored in the first hour, that wouldn't have been as good a performance, we would have retreated.  Blackpool game similar in that we created 4 or 5 decent chances partly because we weren't winning, once we score its a different game.

We scored about 20 minutes too early tonight.

Some of those players seemed frightened on the ball... Only Santos and Sheehan looked comfortable because they are the only two that are not marked and have time to play. Two wingbacks that have one thing on their mind when they get the ball around the halfway line and that is to knock it back.

They are playing robotic football coached to them by a one trick pony coach.

3m spent in the summer to go backwards

Had enough he as to go !

You’d think so but we’ve not recruited any wingers and we’ve not recruited enough midfielders. Considering the money spent in the summer we’ve had a shocker, the squad is massively imbalanced.

For those that were there - was the pitch particularly bad? I'm struggling to understand why our passing was so poor.

It's all rumbling towards our annual gubbing from the Pie eating twats.

There wasn’t one point in that second half where we looked like we had an extra man. I couldn’t tell you where on the pitch we benefitted - even the 5 at the back were being pressed and harried as much as the first half.

I don’t know whose fault that is. The players take most of the blame, most of them looked like they were playing at 60% and couldn’t snap out of it, but there’s got to be a question on Evatt for not being able to make changes that capitalise on the situation. Cambridge are poor, we had an extra player, we were 1-0 up and we were second best for most of the last 30 minutes. Mental!

Or 4 there is no money to spend in Jan because evatt spunked it all away in the summer

it's Tomo's fault

since he's been doing the pre match teamtalk (and since became captain) we've been a bit shit

The players are so interested that Tomo's just told them he's got some air bombs to put in his undercrackers that they forget how to play football

Osei tutu is a winger. He might of been brought in to play wing back but he can play wide. Randall can play as a winger if needed.

We could do it. He just chooses not to. This had nothing to do with formations. This one's on the players for losing two points.

We’ve seen enough now to know what the season probably looks like. Teams don’t fundamentally change after 16 games. We’ll hover below or around the play offs, put some runs together, and come unstuck in games where we don’t expect to.

I imagine Evatt and the board will be looking to January to rebalance the squad.

My biggest concern tonight (aside from a disjointed performance) was the direct shot from kick off after their equaliser. Unsure who it was, but I don’t think any player in previous seasons would have done that. Complete lack of professionalism and makes me question Evatt’s control over that squad.

The board need to decide whether to stick or twist on Evatt. There are big decisions in January on player recruitment. Even bigger decisions on whether to cash in on one or two of our out of contract players or gamble on them helping us get promoted.

The thought of the board giving him more money scares me. We are going to end up in a right mess if we aren’t careful.

No reaction in system when they go to 10.

Nothing when we score.

Nothing when they score.

All very telling.

Williams should be binned. Awful again tonight. Schon is a left winger and a recalled Conway can understudy.
