frank_spencer Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 We've had 'who's the batman' on constant rotation. Written by the lead singer of fall out boy. My favourite song from the film Quote
kent_white Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 No, all American. The film suggests BP did put pressure on them as they were 45 days behind schedule. But there are more qualified people on this forum to say whether or not that is correct. I'm pleasantly surprised to hear this. I'd assumed it would be a film about a heroic yank defying his evil British paymasters and doing the right thing. Quote
Zico Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Bit of a balls up at the oscars with them reading out the wrong winner for best picture https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/film/2017/feb/27/moonlight-wins-best-picture-oscars-academy-award-2017 Quote

madthatter Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 'Bone Tomahawk' (2015), a good dash of the old ultraviolence n a Western setting. That 'food preparation' scene . . . one of those that slipped under the radar for me but thought it was a top film Quote
madthatter Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Proper grim / edgy scenes when they get pulled over in the car Gonna watch that this week. Looks good. Quote
bgoefc Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Hidden Figures. 8/10. An interesting story of NASA's pool of human (black female) computers. Quote
Smiley Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 Not seen Moonlight yet, any good? Thought it was pretty average. More tough dialogue to try and decipher. Nothing much really happens. Think its got the "black" vote. Quote

Aye, after last years "outrage" there was bound to be some sort of PC tokenism and a film about a gay black man ticks all the boxes. Quote
madthatter Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Aye, after last years "outrage" there was bound to be some sort of PC tokenism and a film about a gay black man ticks all the boxes. Only if his lover is a Jew Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 A money-chasing one? Unless it's for 'comic' effect it's 'Jewish' ffs, unless you're Heinrich Himmler. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Sounds shite anyway, a fuzzy luvvie (luvvie) picture about a disgusting drug peddler... Quote
madthatter Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 (edited) A money-chasing one? Unless it's for 'comic' effect it's 'Jewish' ffs, unless you're Heinrich Himmler. Aye, all about how he uses his piano playing skills to facilitate financial gain. A post modern, social commentary piece that mirrors the upper echelons of Hollywood and the struggles they face. e2e4 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 (edited) Only if his lover is a Jew that film is probably next to the holy grail in that warehouse in nevada that's underneath Area 51. theyve probably george lucas-ed francis ford copolla-ed it with CGI , too, just to be safe. Its probably next to that doctored version of that State Farm ad i saw once, before it got wiped off the internet. Edited February 27, 2017 by e2e4 Quote

Aye, I was hoping they would go down the origins of the alien and those engineer folk route but it does look like they're going more 'creature feature'. That bit of all the dead bodies looked interesting though . . . Edited March 1, 2017 by madthatter Quote
