no balls Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 tinker tailor, anybody? Radio 4 interview with David Cornwell this week, he loves it. Well he would fair enough, but he reckons Gary Oldman is brilliant, which I can believe and makes Smiley far more 'human' than Alec Guiness. Quote
Maggie Tate Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I've just come wom from Tinker Tailor. Recommended. Quote
DazBob Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) I watched Flags of Our Fathers last night which I taped last week. Thought it was alreet. Has anyone seen Letters from Iwo Jima ? I think it's supposed to be the story of the same battle but from a Jap point of view. Was wondering if it's worth watching... Watched this last night. I'd say the third quarter of the film dragged on a bit too much. Was very interesting to watch a war film from the "baddie's" point of view. Y'know what, they actually didn't seem like baddies at all, just normal folk with normal fears. If you've seen Flags of Our Fathers then definitely worth seeing this, especially for some of the battle scenes which are exactly the same but seen from a different perspective. 6.5/10 Edited October 10, 2011 by DazBobParr Quote
Boothy Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 It's good but not as good as Flags of Our Fathers. 8.0 on IMDB 91% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes Usually the sign of a good film... Quote

And not even just for the scene you mentioned, although that's almost worth the price of the BluRay alone. Quote
