Zico Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Super 8 Its like a cross between Cloverfield and The Goonies. Started well, fell off the pace a bit, then ended badly. Disappointed with the lack of a twist at the end as thats become Abrams signature over the years. It felt like Spielberg was in charge and Abrams was the assistant. technically, that was the case with Speilberg as producer and Abrams as Director agree that it tailed throughout saw Cloverfield on tv again last night, much better Quote
Big City Girl Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 The Perfect Host - I thought it was ace. Mainly because I hadn't seen anything similar before. Agreed, it was a little bit mental and creepy but also funny. Great casting of er Niles from Frazier (sorry can't remember his name). You're turning into WW own Barry Norman. Well done. Quote
DazBob Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Just watched City of God. Excellent. 9/10 Note: It's in Brazilian/Portuguese so is subtitled. Quote

DazBob Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Saw it when it first came out. Far better than I expected it to be. I'm sure your neighbours enjoyed it too. ... although I'm still not having that those keks would've fitted him when he went all green and angry. Quote
Didledee Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) Alien. We're lucky these things weren't real. We'd have been invaded and rather living under the soil dead, or in cages, waiting for our turn in their gruesome experiments. If I was on that ship, I'd hide or jump out the window and take my chances. Edited October 28, 2011 by Didledee Quote

Once ang lee stops trying to tell a story and the 'hulk smash' stuff starts I love that film. The second one is miles better though. They've got somebody else to play Bruce Banner/ Hulk in the Avengers. Quote

DazBob Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) Just watched Drive. I was expecting something like Fast n Furious. How wrong I was. Can't decide if I thought it was shit or utterly brilliant. One thing I do know is the soundtrack is fantastic. It's got this piece of music running through it quite a lot. I absolutely love this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG31n8hBWb0 Edited October 30, 2011 by DazBobParr Quote

And the music was great but I had to check it wasn't a film from the 80s. Quote
DazBob Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I have a feeling that in a day or two I'll think back and decide it was brilliant. Sounds track already downloaded. Think I'll play it in my car next time I stamp on someone's head until there's nothing left of it. Quote
