Moderators Carlos Posted August 15, 2017 Moderators Share Posted August 15, 2017 Not much football on display at the Colls last night, played in a downpour, MoM was the pitch, years gone by would have seen that abandoned. Part of the learning curve in what is a far more competitive physical league.
Gumbo
Nice to see a few WWs folk on Monday evening. Â The playing surface was superb and held up to the conditions. The Wanderers / Atherton flag looks fantastic too. Â The game less so. Cols with the better chances but Kendal like several others in this league know how to grind out away points. Right Full back for Cols is very good. Â The Tigers played well again on Tuesday missing three great chances when 2-0 up. It's typical of Prescott that they got a goal back on the break and nearly stole an equaliser. Cables, not pretty at all!

Moderators Carlos Posted August 17, 2017 Moderators Share Posted August 17, 2017 The right full back is a midfielder playing there because the right back got injured at Colne. He'll love that! His dad is the kitman at Sunderland, hence why lots of local teams have their old gear.

SalfordOriginal
Did an MLS game which the football was no better than Northern Premier. It's a shame as the Americans are trying to create a good footballing experience: Drink sections/lots around the stadium selling, beer, wine, spirits and shots! Inside the ground they serve beer to your seat (cans and bottles). They have safe standing and promote the use of flares (club supplied!!) Â There are some cringeworthy songs (move bitch, get off the pitch...") but they didn't shut up from start to finish (they had special stands to allow selected fans to orchestrate similar to besiktas when we went). Â 25k on for it, which wasn't too bad as Orlando city are towards the bottom end of the league Edited August 22, 2017 by SalfordOriginal

athywhite1958
Hard game today, not pretty at all, they were a big set who will try to bully teams, straight red for their lad was justified as it was a terrible two footed tackle which could have done some damage, our red card was just bloody stupid, retaliate and it's a red card, after a stone wall penalty shout their keeper turned to us and said , "if that wasn't penalty I don't know what is", piss poor officials again, bur after 3 games we have won 2 and drawn 1 with no goals conceded, Trafford away on Monday for our next adventure #prideofatherton# #upthecolls# cleggysblackandwhitearmy#

Leyther_Matt
good day at colls sat  few in the rope first, then into the ground  lovely weather for it to  still not won that pissing meat raffle though Mate won it a few years ago and we're convinced he's still not used up all the meat.  Had a similarly good day in Wheatsheaf, Atherton Arms and Pendle Witch either side of a few beers on the Colls.  Good performance from the Colls at Trafford yesterday, 1-1 draw. Very pleasant setting on a nice day. In fact I'd forgotten how much I liked it there.

leigh white
Great day out today in Cleethorpes, when the coach picks up all the stragglers in the pub, drives about a mile and finds out he has left two of the football players behind. Ghana White
Rammy United at home to Trafford tonight if anyone fancies it. Rammy are playing uncharacteristically well at the moment.
Ghana White
3 1 to rammy. Trafford had a little group of lads and dad's singing such gems as. "Ramsbottom make me want to do a poo because they are poo" this was being sung by 3 wannabe Noel Gallagher lookalikes who we're about 40, then one of em went on the pitch and tackled a sub... must be something in the water over there. Moderators Carlos Posted September 9, 2017 Moderators Share Posted September 9, 2017 We had a good day out at Trafford, friendly enough, a few singing behind the nets. With 4 points from 7 they are struggling.
