anyway, my take on today

conceded a stupid penalty

could have scored 10 but wouldn't have scored if we'd played all night, bar the penalty

millwall are fitter than us

they have a physical presence we haven't got

they're professional - ie they waste time like experts

they always looked like they had a goal in them

the game was quite enjoyable if you want value for money

as a bolton fan who just wants to see a win, it was shite

oh aye, sort the fcuking lights out

Personally I think DF is the wrong guy, wrong club and wrong time.

But.

It will be very interesting to see how much fight the players show for him next week. He will really want to win that, let's see how much the players want to do it for him.

But it's just not about how much fight next week what about the t'other week and this week? Don't get it myself and no wasn't in attendance today therefore #shitfan

Thank you. I thought I was going crazy. I thought to myself I'm sure its not usually as dark as this in the stands.

Casino has pretty much summed up my thoughts. Worrying.

Enjoyed it. And Millwall had stacks of what we lack. Fair play to Jackett given time has built a solid side for this league.

Think we'd have folded in a similar position to what Millwall faced second half. And that's the main thing i think Dougie can fix.

And Homer was it not Andrews with the shocking pass and Ream unaware rather than other way round?

Alonso and Spearing best players today I thought, Ream was okay. Rest were shit, wayward passing to no-one a problem, poor communication between players, lack of understanding of each other's positioning, poor decisions and Eagles trying to score wonder goals. Eagles should have come off befoe Chungy. 4 strikers on at the end and still would never have scored. Wheater, Holden and Vela can't come back soon enough. Millwall defended well and are a good Championship team.

Define fight though? If you mean throwing yourself into stupid tackles and sprinting 50 yards after a lost cause then anybody can do that. I don't think it's a fitness issue either. I do agree with Casino that we're not physically imposing.

To get out of this division, you have to be strong through the middle. A trustworthy keeper, 2 decent centre halves with a good understanding, a solid midfield 2 including one with a bit of creativity, and a striker who can net you 20+ goals. I'd say we're 4 or 5 players short of that at the moment.

What makes you say that?

Because I believe that we needed someone with more experience who has an established track record in management.

Time is one thing he doesn't have to learn and improve at a club where the expectation was & is promotion.

Next season is his time but the remit I sm sure was play-offs at least for this season.

From the match evidence this season (and last), our current players are not where they 'need to be'. re fitness.

Either that or they've no idea about playing football.

I see far more evidence of fitness in non-league matches (for the level they're at) so I can't see what the professional tests are all about.

And if you think our lot look fit for the Championship, Cas, you're wasted not being in the Wanderers public relations team.

So stop fishing.

We may have had a fair bit of the ball but we created precious little today apart from the goal line clearance.

IMO they were as likely to win today as we were; that ball across the box with a few mins left...their lad was centimetres away

We are far too laborious with the ball, predictable with a huge lack of movement off the ball

I agree with the MoM - Alonso, but even he wa only slightly above average for me. Bogdan didn't seem to do much wrong, but after that I thought every other player was poor today.

And how many times will they try the short roll on corners and free kicks without executing a decent delivery before they decide its not working??

I'm far from convinced with DF, because I just don't see what he's trying to do / what he's trying to create

We're no more solid at the back

We dot appear to be working harder

The football hasn't improved

We aren't any more penetrative

I just don't see it yet; hopefully there is a formula to it

And if we'd got that and he didn't immediately set us alight, we would have had all the moaners come out saying we needed somwbody fresh with new ideas.

Dougie's number 2 has got more experience than the vast majority of Managers out there. I've got confidence in these two if they're given enough time to build their own side and aren't hounded out before they've had a chance.

Whoever Gartside brought in after Coyle was going to have one hell of a job on their hands and immediate promotion was unrealistic in hindsight. There is a rot at the club which needs dealing with. I reckon we're looking at consolidation and then a clear out in the summer.

we're not physically imposing.

And that's another thing. We've no technique to resist the slightest physical challenge. Powder-puff stuff.

Oh, and Kenny Jackett should be well proud of his team's time wasting and gamesmanship. Totally unnecessary - Millwall were competent enough without it.

I'm still trying to get myself warmed up again after iceblock Reebok. Good job we were on the front foot more in the 2nd half.

What gets me most is that we showed signs last week against Sunderland that DF had a plan for the football we should play and we were starting to play it. Today was back to utter bollox in the 1st half, and not hugely better football in the 2nd half. Where does it all go during that week ?

I wouldn't say they looked like they had a goal in them. Apart from a few long rangers and the odd cross in they did nothing.

It will be very interesting to see how much fight the players show for him next week. He will really want to win that, let's see how much the players want to do it for him.

I think the main reason he has been brought in is because we're starting to see the benefits of the investment in the academy. I've never known us have so many youth players with the possibility of being in and around the 1st team. I'm sure not all of them will make it but it sounds like there are 5 or 6 that could have the chance within the next few seasons.

DF has shown at Palace that he considers youth to be an important part of the club and is more than happy to involve them in the 1st team. There's been reports that he already has at least a few of them training with the 1st team and he's hoping to get them involved at some point.

I've completely written off this season, if we manage to sneak a play off place then it's a massive added bonus but for me the rest of this season is about a few good away days and getting ready to properly have a go at the league next year.

If some of this youth can break through, added to a few of Freedmans signings of players that he actually wants, and the biggest factor for me of Holden and Wheater returning then I still think we'll see that Freedman is the right man for the job. I'll not be making any rash decisions based on anything I see this season.

I still believe its just a matter of time.

But yes, time us ringing out.

Plus with mavies, wheater and hopefully a fully recovered Holden, things can only improve.

Be interesting to see what players DF brings in and who they replace.

Playoffs is still a very reasonable target for me.
