Am in NSL. Will take your word for it, he certainly went down looking for it. And would have still liked him to get on with it rather than berate the lino. ex_midlandwhite
I keep hearing this about DF and his own players but his job right now is to manage this lot and so far he isn't doing a great job for me I know it's still early days as he may well turn out to be the right man for us, but I'm looking for green shoots; indications that something is progressing. And week after week I go hopeful that it'll happen, but it's just not doing! So what's the optimism about DF based upon?? I'm not saying it's wrong just yet but it seems like blind faith to me...he's hardly a track record elsewhere to refer to either I'm really worried I'm basing it purely on looking at the side he has built at Palace. Don't have a huge lot else to go on really. Im happy to write off and blame a bunch of these players before Freedman now, given that two or three managers have struggled to get consistent performances from some of them. Smiffs
Apart from being stone cold fucking sober I sort of enjoyed that today. We weren't very good overall, many are clearly short of confidence fitness or both, but we didn't stop having a go and that's a lot better than in recent months. Knight and reams are fucking awful. Pub players. Spearing was anonymous. The game was going on around him until the last 10. Eagles...fair fucks to him even when he's having a bad spell he doesn't stop looking for the ball. Ngog was very good today. Davies best days are long gone. But I'm still not sure freedman knows his best team yet. Far from it.
snowball
Zat Knight looking our best defender (and Eagles being top scorer) and us being shite this season are not unrelated. JSL Plus I do feel that Knight is that bad he makes whoever his partner is in central defence look worse. The defence will not improve until he is gone, sooner the better. ianofcleveleys
Kinght and Ream as a partnership are frightening. Knight's positioning and concentration are woeful, Ream's not suited to this league, not physically strong enough. Alonso's improved a bit in recent games but would be a better left mid than full back, Ricketts is better than Mears but has suffered a dip in form this season, maybe from being chopped and changed around the back four so much. All in all, don't inspire confidence though not helped when those supposed to be screening them fanny about like Andrews and Spearing did in the first 15 mins today. Fair play to all who are going to Palace, that defence against their attack might be best watched through a beer fog

Been saying that for 4 years. Our defensive stats have been awful ever since he arrived. Why? He can't head, he can't tackle, he can't pass and his positional sense is awful . He creates a lackadaisical attitude across the back. In laymans terms he's f&c9ing awful. I'm not going again this season if he plays. Everything that's wrong with club. mickbrown
Centre halves are weak as piss. Bugger all physical presence. We need a Jaidi, Faye, Shittu type, cos the 2 fannys we have at the moment get bullied. And if Keith Andrews tries to take another quick free kick, I'm gonna shit in my empty pie foil and chuck it at the bugger.
Barnstoneworth White
Any argeebargee today? Saw a load of cop cars going from the Parkway rail station to the motorway at about 5.30 ish with their sirens full belt. Probably late for their tea. AHM top boy Undies reported a minor skirmish on Trinity Street early doors.
onlyoneawalker
Is it just me that has absolutely no issue with Zat knight So he's not the most technically gifted and he does have lapses in concentration from time to time. But for the majority of games he's played reasonably well. More often than not, it's his partner that's be poorer of the two. You're certainly in the minority as well as being very very average at best he also epitomises our senior players attitude and needs cutting out to help the patient - more never give a shit than never say die attitude If you're not the best footballing wise u make up for it with desire fight work rate and leadership he doesn't - I also think reams starting to adjust with stronger displays but his physical presence is a problem in this league something he can't do anything about but I think wheater and him could do better but wheaters hardly muckonettles either but a better player mills and wheater it is then Edited January 13, 2013 by onlyoneawalker

Site Supporter Ratwhite Posted January 13, 2013 Site Supporter Share Posted January 13, 2013 Fucking Ace. I love reading the the match thread the day after. Even got our first Freedman out from you know who........:-) You can't polish a turd. Freedmans tried and failed(ish). Dosen't mean he's the wrong man (IMO) The Match squad he has at his disposal, plus Vela, Eaves, Holden, Davies(M), Davies©! Wheater and anyone others he gets in will finish top ten at best. They will finish strong but run out of games. We all know that on it's day this team/squad can beat anyone in this league, conversely we know it can loose to anyone too. I honestly believe PG and Eddie have said, come in and try for play-offs this season, but ensure we are right for next season. Hence the fucking about with starting line ups etc. PS offer Alonso a new deal now' another solid display yesterday. "He is one for the future!!" bgoefc
I have mentioned many a time that this squad is capable of ripping the arse out of this league, it is a managers job to Instill it .And for those idiots out there say 'well performances suggest otherwise' you are proving my point. Can you give this idiot some facts as to why this is the best squad in the league? what virtues or skill or what great things have they done in the last 24 months to merit this label? Is your belief in them based purely on the fact that they play for bwfc who last year were in the premier league?
anewman
If he can't see that afobe is fuckin shit, sordell needs to play, eagles looks jaded, knight is fucking awful, Davies needs players playing off him, chungy should stay on etc then he's not the right man for the job

Petrov, Lee and Holden were 3 of the midfield 4 that had Bolton 6th in the Premier League in March 2011.Holden is still in the squad, Freedman had both Lee and Petrov available until opting to release Petrov last week. It's the team with the best midfield that usually wins a match. Piemon
I thought Ricketts was ok today and I thought he was fouled at the end. Where do you sit in am n esl just by he challenge. It was definatly a free kick. That said Ricketts should have got on with it and at least try to track back instead of having a pop at the linesman. The linesman down the ESL touchline was dire though but play to the whistle.

miamiwhite
along with casino,i was probably the most confident on this forum, that we'd go straight back up. to say i'm disgusted and disappointed with the season so far is a massive understatement. i think freedman knows he's a huge fight on his hands and we're definitely in transition. hopefully when the injured players are back,a couple of useful additions made, plus all the deadwood and non-interested underperforming wankers are moved on,then we may go on a decent run and build a side ready to mount a serious challenge for next season. DaisyHWanderer
I think some of the players just expected to walk the league, seems they haven't got the bottle to put in their hardest everyweek. Saw lots of old faces who i havent seen there for a while yesterday. For some reason i trust dougie, but he needs time. Afobe can fuck off aswell.
