miamiwhite Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 84/85 was the season the train got smashed up on the way home, I don't recall a pitch invasion it might have been the season before. The match in 84/85 was the same day Blackpool rioted at Bury and the ICF turned up at Old Trafford for the FA Cup quarter final. 84/85,we bumped into blackpool at preston and they took a spanking. The famous B,the kiss me quick hat seller telling the muckers to ''stand, bolton are fuck all'' before being on his toes as well. they then bumped into another load of whites at trinity st who were catching the next train. again they came unstuck and suffered a 2-0 off the field defeat to the cuckoo boys. re the pitch invasion,it was only a few lads involved, one certain nameless lad leading the old bill a merry dance on the pitch for a good 2 or 3 minutes. i think thunderflashes and smoke bombs went off in our end. an amusing incident from the 83/84 game saw 300 of us marching from the deepdale pub to the ground when 20 bolton came running round the corner saying preston were chasing them. sure enough a fair sized preston outfit came flying round screaming ''come on you bolton bastards'' but when realising the 20 had been bolstered by our huge pub, they scattered everywhere Quote

Straight over the fence a little jog about then back into the Bolton end sharpish as they brought the police dogs out. Think it was this was the game they sent police horses into the Bolton end and a copper got pulled off....... Oooer! Quote
Whites man Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 85, after the police horse incident they opened the gates on the fencing at the front of the terrace and we left via the pitch and the players tunnel. Everyone who didn't get chucked out was on the pitch that day. Quote
paulhanley Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Much less significant stuff than 83/4 and 84/5 but I remember the game in 90/91 the week after Bolton had played in the Cup at Old Trafford and taken 10000. Thousands turned up at Deepdale and a section of the home end distant to the Town End that was housing the Wanderers fans had to be opened. That caused some aggravation. Wasn't at the Boxing Day game in 88/89 but seem to remember reports of trouble that day. Quote
TrickyTrotter Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 Reports that PNE owner Trevor Hemmings has died this evening. He has put in around £10m in over the last 12 months to keep them afloat. Potential problems ahead unless he has set up a foundation to fund them. Quote

DomRepWanderer Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 One of the few clubs that sent a helping hand during our troubles, full respect and RIP Mr Hemmings. Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 Hope they don't find themselves in financial trouble. Never had an issue with PNE & they came up trumps when we were in the shit...... & they also hate Blackpool 😁 Quote
Steejay Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 Loads of ‘em going to Blackpool without tickets this weekend. Quote

Mind you, they're probably not going to the Derby game anyway, as their home crowds are shite, as I keep reminding them. 😁 Be interesting to see what his legacy is at the club. I think that the chairman is his son. Quote
Steejay Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Definitely get above the 10k now that they’re reducing tickets to £5. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Half the ground to Derby? Quote
