Get him signed. I'd not imagine Liverpool would be wanting a fortune for him.

We've still no idea if Holden will be anything like the player he was.

Andrews is gash. I marked him down as our player of the season in August. he's been far worse than I could've imagined. Maybe due to his age he's no longer hungry.

I've not yet seen anything from Vela to suggest he's going to be good enough - that's not to say he won't be though.

IMO Mark Davies is not and never will be an orthodox central midfielder, so two from Pratley, Medo and Spearing feels okay by me.

Medo and Spearing have the potential to be a fantastic partnership for us for years to come.

I agree that signing Spearing would be a good bit of business and that Liverpool probably won't want a lot for him. He certainly won't be getting into the Liverpool team on a regular basis, so I think he'll be leaving there this year anyway. If he comes to us is another matter, as he's playing quite well at the minute he might become a target for some of the lower placed premier league teams or possibly one of these that get's promoted. If we do manage to go up through the play offs, then we could well be in poll position, if we don't then we might not be as an attractive option to him (if he does get other offers)

As a few have mentioned with Vela, from the little I've seen of him I'm not sure he's that good, and as things stand he's not going to get enough game time so maybe a seaosn or 6 months out on loan is what he really needs so he can play 10, 15 or 20 consecutive games, which isn't going to happen here.

As for Holden, who knows, hopefully with a full pre-season under his belt he'll come back as good as he was before, but only time will tell.

For what its worth I thought Vela had an excellent game against Everton in the cup. I also thought he was decent against Leicester and was only taken off because we wanted to change formation. Can't believe so many people are writing him off.

I think trying to sign Spearing permenantly should be one of Doogies priorities this summer no matter what league we are in, the lad is quality. Future captain i think, and puts his foot in.

I like Spearing & I'd be happy if we signed him, but surely it depends on how much money we've got to spend. For me, Medo is a better player in the same position, so if we're skint, signing Spearing wouldn't be first priority when we need strikers, full backs, a centre half & an orthodox winger.

For example, if we only had enough money to buy either Dawson or Spearing, I'd rather we bought Dawson.

And, I haven't written Vela off & wouldn't be surprised if he went on to play more games for us than Holden.

Apart from Mounts, I've not seen anyone 'writing him off'.

Garrp is aswell

I disagree from what I've seen

Professional Managers disagree in players so I guess we can too?

I thought Vela was fine again yesterday. Did a solid job, showed for the ball, rarely gave it away. I would say he faded towards the end of the game, not uncommon for young players and may have benefitted from being replaced after 70/75 mins say

Aye, he did fine.

He was much better that Pratley yesterday.

Pratleys first touch was awful on a number of occasions

Thought everyone did well in the first half but a number struggled to keep their shape after the break; Vela and Pratley had poor second halves and even Medo tired (MOM for me though with Eagles a close second).

We have been very unlucky to lose Spearing at this stage of the season and it is obvious that Stuart Holden is being eased back and not anywhere near right yet.

Sordell is one hell of a lazy get and Craig Davies is just enthusiastic and doesn't have the right quality IMO

Pratley scores which he should have we would be just looking at drawing the game next week but we would have taken this early February - COYWM lets do it

It's a worry our forward line we don't have a genuine goal scorer and we are relying on Eagles and midfield chipping in, keep saying it but would love to see Chung yong play off the front man much in the way we have used Eagles I suppose now not the time to to take that gamble.

Cardiff's leading scorers are Gunnarsson, Whittingham and Helguson, all with eight goals. Next up is Noone with seven.

Bet they're not worrying about it.

It's ok if goals are shared round the team over the season, if we qualify for the play off its a different ball game knockout football and that's why I would prefer an out and out finisher in the mould of the lad Blackburn have.

Fair point.

That's why he was dragged off with 30 minutes left.

"Dragged off"? You're better than that mounts

We were losing and Dougie went 4-4-2

It was the right thing to do

Doesn't mean he was poor

And you know it
