I thought Lee had a mixed game, lost it trying some forward passes but then ran down the player he lost it too and won a slide tackle, he ran at them a few times and earned us freekicks in dangerous positions and at least tried to make things happen, he did far more than Spearing, Beckford and N'Gog, wasn't great but there were far worse players out there, mainly Tierney.

I know we have injuries but the tactics should have been sorted during the pre-season. The was awful; we play lots of good short passing but no penetration what so ever.

And you talk bollocks; spearing was playing defensive midfield and did his job well apart from taking free kicks because he just cant deliver. Beckford is a lazy get but both forwards got no quality balls to them

If you say so... actually Spearings best bits were his freekicks, one was tipped over the bar by Green and the other was a low cross that I think Wheater(?) got a touch on, but went straight to Green. 

 

Medo is another level to Spearing imo, that guy is so not a Championship player, he is a class player who wouldn't look out of place in a top team.

The way DF set the team up made it impossible for the FB's. Nobody in front of them and the wingers were cutting inside which allowed their FB's to go down the flanks without any challenges.

For me, the injuries and squad depth were the difference today. We were missing our 2 most creative and our best overall midfielder, Eagles, Mavies and Holden. Biggest moan for me, was that lee was too central and we played down the flank to Tierney who isn't the best attacking full back. Beckford doesn't really contribute much for a non prolific striker. When we did press, we also lacked any real guile.

As for what happened in the last 5 minutes, ZK on the wing with 2 wingers in central positions...wtf! Only real positive for me today was Tim Ream looked useful as a DM. In summary though, we need a central defender, prolific goal scorer ( they had 3) and some guile.

I understand all about FFP but unless we invest, we are staying in this league.

Tragic performance, not good at all. Still trust Dougie, it's disappointing we can't get the players we need in but obviously you can't spend what you don't have! He'll get it right.

 

As for players, thought Ream was okay but is still obviously a massive liability, need better players than him.

Chungy looked better today, he just needs a bit of confidence. He'll get better as the season progresses.

Beckford, like Chungy is just lacking confidence, snatching at his chances. Once he bags a few goals he'll be right.

The lack of pace in defence is still scary to watch.

 

Anyway, we'll smash Blackburn next week! Can't wait! COYW!
