Guest Blixa Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 If Gartside goes, this club would be worse for it. He's doing his best keeping a falling business afloat, which is what we are - a business. I'm sure he'd love to give Dougie loads of cash, sack players, price tickets at a fiver each etc etc. But that's not realistic is it? Everything he has done is either Eddie's bidding or what he thought was the best interests of the club. Yeah, controversial I know. But that's the reality of things. I know people would prefer to think he's on the make, on a power trip, on a one-man mission to destroy the club and so on. But he's not. He's doing a job that few available would be able to do better. Supporters should do what the name suggests and stop pretending there's a magic bullet of Gartside simply leaving or sacking another manager. The only way out of this is players starting playing. Gonk Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 (edited) ossshh.. we're collectively making enemies on facebook forums.. Fuck them all. As noisy as they might be they are an irrelevant minority with an irrational view of the world. I pity them. Edited September 24, 2013 by Gonk Quote
only1swanny Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 well the collective view seems to be that Gartside is bent as and on the take.. he's having bonus's despite us being relegated... They don't seem to understand what Director jobs entail... Quote

Carlos Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 ossshh.. we're collectively making enemies on facebook forums.. Aye, for having an opinion on people who seem to think it's their right to do and say as they like. Would be ironic if it wasn't for the sad state of our education system and the entitled generation. barryk32 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Understatement I imagine he's quivering. I remember a ginge taking the piss out of the group on Twatter, everyone getting all pissy saying he's going to get this that and t'other. Ultimately all he had to do was delete a couple of PM's. Grip needed I reckon. (Said Ginge still posts on here I think) Quote

MalcolmW Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 So he's chairman of a failing business?? The irony I joined an insurance company in 1969. In 1914 it had been the equal second largest such company in GB, but invested very heavily in War Loan stock touted by Lloyd George, because it was what the policyholders would have wished to do. The value of that stock plumetted and reduced investment earning capacity for decades. Only when there was a very weak stock market in 1973 was the stock finally unloaded (on the basis that this was the best price ever likely to be available). Eventually the company was taken over in 2000 (and its policyholders shafted). Was I wrong to join a failing business? I don't think so. And most of the various chairmen did as good a job as they could in difficult circumstances. BWFC was at its peak in the 1920s, with a later fourish in the Lofthouse era and a fabulous 4 year run in the past decade. But the circumstances of the game mean that a quiche of big city teams have perpetual domination. That doesn't make anyone else a failure - PG has done as good a job as anyone else might have done, and to dream otherwise is sheer fantasy. Quote
