COYW
he's made ream and mills look like a partnership, something nobody expected Least of all Dougie because it took him nine games to try that particular combination whilst he persisted with Zat Knight. Rembrandt
I think I've made my mind up on DF but to be sure I'm happy to give him 1 more window and 6 games next season, but his constant changing of players his re- inclusion of ZK and his lack of loyalty to players he's signed recently, his style of play, lack of pressure on the ball, failure to motivate players, mark him down as a bad un and it's going to take a lot to convince me other wise. Succinctly put, Mounts. I'm with you. I watch our games and cannot see what he's trying to build to move us forward.
Mounts Kipper
i'm getting old and i'm happy to just see if how it pans out i think he knows whats missing - evidence signings of danns, mcnaughton and feeney all improved us he's made ream and mills look like a partnership, something nobody expected tierney is a good un and i've not given up on baptiste davies is back, moritz has plenty to offer and i like spearing and medo beckford, cos he doesn't score 2 a game and cos he isnt super kevin davies is shite my opinion - we're not missing much that two pacy wingers won't sort i still haven't given up on sneaking in the play offs this season IF he can get what he wants this next month It's quite incredible we are only 9 points off top 6 but it's not going to happen unless we have an amazing transfer window, I think it's much more likely we depart this league the other way. smeghead83
I'm just wondering what the fans believe is acceptable in terms of league position at the end of the season for Dougie to keep his job from this point? I would say we should be aiming for top 10. I'm pretty sure he'll be told to sell before we buy again in January, the board will be of the mindset that Bolton will still be in this league next season so very little investment in the 1st team I reckon. Moderators Casino Posted December 29, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) Least of all Dougie because it took him nine games to try that particular combination whilst he persisted with Zat Knight. he backed wheater and knight strongly in the summer made knight captain and offered wheater a new deal look like poor judgment at the moment but was only reasonable he gave them a chance to build something as for mills and ream, i think he'd have happily got shut of both, whether that was to raise some cash or cos he didn't want them i dunno nor do you either way, he can't win can he stick with what we;ve got and keep losing and he's a tit get through to mills and ream what he expects of them, give them a chance and see them take it and he should've done it sooner even if at that time they hadn't got the message if anybody seriously think that freedman couldn't build a much stronger team than the one he took over on its way to the drop with the 100k a week we are/were spunking on ngog, eagles, petrov, davies et al then they are numb as piss unfortunatley, thanks to coyles efforts we are now in a league where he doesn't have the luxury of putting that money to good use Edited December 29, 2013 by Casino
Jol_BWFC
Would have played Pratley instead of Lee Pratley came on at half time and it made no difference to halting dyer. Neither Pratley nor Lee were going to offer much assistance to Baptiste. If anything, it seemed Dyer had more of a free reign after Pratley came on - in the first half, he was mainly limited to crossing from the byline
SnoopJohnnyJohn
as for mills and ream, i think he'd have happily got shut of both, whether that was to raise some cash or cos he didn't want them i dunno I think most on this forum would have gotten rid of this pair in the summer. Of course, now they're claiming they knew all along it would have been the best pair to play. Don't try and reason with them Cas, it's like banging your head against a brick wall. Those nine games were part of our worst start to a season in over 100 years. Most teams in the Championship are operating on budgets of next to nothing. He's actually had more to spend than most. glossopWANDERER
I have wanted rid of this plonker since about 4 games in. He has no ability to motivate players or even fans. Today he's come out and said Leicester are a thousand times better than the rest of this league. The lack of ambition may suit the owner and board of directors but come on we should be aiming to be on a level playing field with Leicester City. He promised he would give youth a chance which has been an out and out lie. He keeps saying the wrong things for example any of the team can leave tomorrow quote after the Blackburn game. Finally, If I have to watch our defenders holding hands like 6 year olds in a play ground for much longer I'm going to pack watching this lot in. Get the clown out before we all turn on him and the squad of players

nottinghamtrotter
Entertaining, gave it a go, but dear me - front to back defensively shambolic. #1 - free shot - where we're defenders/midfielders throwing themselves to block #2 - Ream forgot he was LB and left the man at the back #3 - unlucky - fair enough #4 - Baptiste caught up field but no one (Pratley, Davies or Knight) had the brains to fill in against the bloke who was ripping us apart #5 - all given up / gone AWOL For the defence and coaching staff we have we've found our true level...... Or would you then give him time? I don't have Dougie tinted specs. I just don't think that changing the manager is the solution. We're already unstable from the previous regime and now you're talking about adding more instability to go along with a shit squad. Seems like a bad idea is all. SnoopJohnnyJohn
Quote from DF today “We had a game plan which was simply to score more goals than Leicester.." What a genius!! Can't wait for this idiot to go. People have been asking for that for months! Jesus, what's wrong with people? They say "we're tired of sitting back, we should attack more". One game his plan is to attack more and suddenly it's "we should have kept it tighter". FFS.
