'we are so loud' 'aren't we great' blahdy blahdy blah. They will claim they have kept them up if they indeed stay up. Quote

frank_spencer Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 We've been in the stadium for 15yrs +. If there was any desire from bolton fans for a singing area it would have happened by now. under the screen used to be the closest we got. now folk sit in the WSU and complain no one sings. At burnden if you wanted an atmosphere you went in the paddock. the orange warriors take their share of the blame for the shocking atmosphere. but ultimately it's down to those who want an atmosphere at the reebok to create one. It's no good saying the reebok concrete bowl design isnt conducive to creating an atmosphere but stoke manage it at the Britannia Quote
Carlos Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I know I like to sit/stand and watch the game and think singing is the kids BUT when there's a chance of being launched out, there's zero chance of me joining in. The club WANT a sterile/safe environment and that's what they've got. The Bournemouth fans, about 30 stewards for 300 people. That's 1 steward for every 10 people. In context, we send kids to school where it's 1 teacher to 30 kids. They were fucking itching to chuck someone out, to "do their job". The club can't complain when we've got sub 10K crowds if they want us to sit there like naughty schoolboys. Quote
Sweep Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 A big problem is that whilst we were in the Premier League, as far as the club were concerned, the attendances didn't matter at all as they generate fuck all revenue in the grand scheme of things. We've never as a club done anything to try and get an atmosphere going or dare I say it even create a "matchday experience", and whilst we were getting the Sky money, it didn't really matter if 2000 or 20000 people showed up for a game. Now the Sky money is all but gone, and we're a bit fucked and don't seem to be able to do anything to stop the atmosphere from vanshing completely. As mentioned by Carlos and a few others, the Orange Warriors certainly don't help matters at all. Quote
Whites man Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 sit there like naughty schoolboys. A large number of Conservative MPs pay good money to get treated like that. Quote
Bigtoe Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 The club never bothered with that idea of a Batman style projection lamp or the Eagle that would fly into the ground with the team sheet and refs whistle round its ankle. Unless they misheard and signed Chris Eagle or something. Quote

I hope so,embody can find the post Quote

It makes you uncool Quote
no balls Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 the Orange Warriors certainly don't help matters at all. They tried checking grabbing my ticket whilst I was going through the barrier of metal and testosteroned oranges before the game on Saturday. Do fuck off. Quote

Pie Eater Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 If there was any desire from bolton fans for a singing area it would have happened by now. There clearly is though, look at our away atmmosphere which is brilliant even when we only have a few hundred. One of the best I've experienced in years was Bournemouth away and that only took 1,000 of us Quote
stevieb Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Not everyone can be part of the elite fans though, otherwise it stops being a status symbol. Quote
Woodwork Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 What's to stop us organising/singing like them? They had fuck all before they got organised, no reason we can't do the same. Our fans shit on them cockney rentboys Don't do it, palace are bunch of freaks. Football atmospheres should be organic, not choreographed by a bunch of 6th Form virgins with banners and a drum. As for cockney rent boys...rent boys yes; cockney no. In fact I wouldn't even class them as a proper London club out in Croydon. More a suburban overspill club, that's why their main rivals are Brighton...can't be getting all nasty in New Cross can they. We find lots of cocaine and alcohol combined with lacklusture stewarding lends itself to a good atmosphere..just don't bump into people! Quote
Casino Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) a palace fan has never threatened to have his 5 year old daughter stab me in the back for that reason, i do actually prefer them to millwall Edited February 12, 2014 by Casino Quote
Woodwork Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 a palace fan has never threatened to have his 5 year old daughter stab me in the back for that reason, i do actually prefer them to millwall Fair point. It's why I prefer White people to black people...as I've never been mugged by knife point by a White person. Oh hang on...that sounds like a completely daft opinion to form about a whole group of people based on an one off incident involving an individual...also it's a bit racist too. On serious note though, it's your opinion and I guess I've got to respect it. I will inform the Millwall PR team we've lost another popularity vote to those Palace scamps, who only beat up Charlton supporting women on trains...whoops, now I've done it to! Quote
Woodwork Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) On a real serious note; I can see why Casino has taken against us...I I hate all Arsenal fans simply because of Piers Morgan. Human nature. Did the daughter have access to a knife or was it a metaphorical threat...ie he meant he'd lend you his daughter's train ticket & then she'd scream 'that man has a child's ticket...stop him'...as you were lead away her & her father were laughing?
