BL3 white Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 By the way I always see a chant out even on my own and don't give a shit who stares. Mind I have always had a few. Quote
Pie Eater Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) Don't even remember posting this thread haha Agree the cheerleaders/megaphones are a bit gay but we need something.... was flat as a pancake in ESL again today even after we scored Edited February 8, 2014 by Pie Eater Quote
enzo gambaro Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Not always. But I went against Rochdale when there was1500 on and the atmosphere was better than the bok.Either you've made that up or your memory is fucked. Quote

BL3 white Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Just plain old made up How's that then if you get 300 fans singing throughout it can create a good atmosphere, like at burnden park. How many people do you think sing at the reebok. My guess is about 30-40 in kids corner and 100 or so in the north stand. Quote

The difference is at Burnden we generally had 50K on, so an atmosphere was always going to be generated, since our crowds have declined, so has the atmosphere Quote
Big E Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I love organised chanting and banter! Works abroad and looking at palace works here. Get behind it I say Quote
bolty58 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Reading this with interest. To all of the sarcy fuckers referring to Burnden being always full etc. I can tell you that to a man, many of the lads I know down here refer to 'the old ground' has being 'intimidating' and a difficult place to go to. Can't imagine many (if any) saying that about the Reebok. Now I agree that I myself have stood there many times and it's been like a library. Shit, meaningless game, small crowd etc. There's no doubt in my mind however that a few thousand at Burnden could generate a better atmosphere than a full house in Horwich. Acoustics, atmosphere of the place - I don't know what but something special from the crowd could happen there which we will never see in our all seater concrete bowl. Maybe there's just less nutters about? Quote

waffer cup 07 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Any sort of chanting/atmosphere is better than none at all. Our home support is non existent. Quote
HR Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 The past is the past but drums, mascots, cheerleaders, flag men and other attempts at a 'forced atmosphere' are cringeworthy. BUT you cant live in the past, sitting back taking the piss is easy, something has to be done to ease the humiliation on and off the pitch. Quote

Pie Eater Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 To be fair, I wasn't suggesting copying Palace exactly with the cheerleaders and other such plastic shite. More that if their fans are able to put their heads together and came up with a way to improve the atmosphere, surely we can think of something? Quote
Carlos Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 One thing I think you are missing is that people on here have engaged with club many times over the years, they've ignored us every single time, on every single level, apart from the Fanzone, which many other people also suggested. So, good luck with that. Quote
no balls Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 What happened to that last lot they had who suggested turning the tvs off and shutting the bars? Are they still in conversation with the club? Quote
Proper White Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Good post....Palace were suffering from a poor atmosphere at Selhurst & their fans decided to have a go and try and make a difference. They have done well. In my opinion, a decent atmosphere definitely makes the day miles better for everyone and its obvious that players can respond. To me it would be fucking amazing to develop a reputation for getting behind the lads no matter what. We can't change the manager, the team or the tactics so why not do the one thing we can do and get behind 'em. I wish you well if you do decide to have a go at creating something positive for the club. Quote
