jules_darby Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) I fucking love these convenient excuses for PG We can't have a go at him because he's the owner's choice. That doesn't make the man infallible It's on a par with the wonderful "we do not know what his job is and targets are"; so don't have a go at him. Heard all that bollocks when it came to Douglas "bingo machine" Freedman Jesus wept Edited October 4, 2014 by jules_darby Quote
Ani Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I can almost guarantee that's not all his job entails, but it seems there's no point arguing. I have spent many thousands over the years watching them, home and away. Myself, Swanny, and our dad went almost every week to watch them, win, lose, or draw, rain or shine. I only moved abroad a little over 3 1/2 years ago (my last game was the 5-0 defeat at Wembley) - people on here make out like I sit back and watch with a margarita in my hand laughing at the shit you're all going through. I live that shit too. I support as much as I can, buy the new shirts when they come out, pay for "Wanderers Player" so I can get up before the sun's up to listen to the shit you're watching, and when I'm back in England I go to every game I can. I have spent, and continue to spend, a lot of money on the whites. And even if I was there, I would not protest. It's window-licker behaviour of the highest order. ED and PG know what the problems are, but they also know more about what those problems entail financially and for the health of the club than ANYONE who walks through those turnstiles on match days. PG even basically said that with his infamous "people in football know" line. OK take it the wrong way then. Gartside is very well paid, but it seems he has no responsibility in your eyes for anything that is wrong, on that basis the good days were not down to him either. I get Casinos argument that PGs job is to do whatever Eddie tells him, Casino however also acknowledges that PG has to take some responsibility for the state of the club. If people are annoyed/worried about the state of the club but want to remain loyal and support the team how else should they express these feelings ? I am not bothered about the stay aways who have found a series of excuses such as the manager/location/sponsor/pies/kit etc etc not to go. Against Derby it seemed half the ground, myself included were apathetic just sat there bored. A few what you describe as ' window lickers ' were protesting. Not sure which is worse. Anyway it is Saturday, I will be driving an hour and a half to Bolton with our lad and his mate (I buy an extra season ticket so lad can have a mate at the game) and then driving back, I will be careful not to criticise or knock the club in case it ruins your enjoyment sat in your replica third kit listening on wanderers player. jules_darby Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Garp if Gartside gets credit for that, surely he carries the can fur current position as well ?No because He's ED's man Or We don't know what he's targeted with achieving Or Something else that pops up Quote
davidjack Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) Garrp, I've not mentioned Allardyce in any of these postings. I don't constantly slate the club. I was telling people to get to the game and bring some lapsed mates with them last night! I spent over 10 years travelling up for home games with a season ticket from London. I reckon I'm entitled to an opinion. Even one which differs from your 'let's not question anything about the running of our club' view of the world. I'm also entitled to have a go at people who make up facts - which then get repeated by others - to suit their increasingly bizarre arguments. Edited October 4, 2014 by davidjack Quote

SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) OK take it the wrong way then. That's not "taking it the wrong way" - it's responding to exactly what you said. Gartside is very well paid, but it seems he has no responsibility in your eyes for anything that is wrong, on that basis the good days were not down to him either. The good and bad days are down to the manager(s). Gartside picks the managers, so I guess indirectly he's responsible too. I don't hold Bill Gates responsible for bad versions of Windows either, just for comparison. How about this for a novel idea? Those apathetic fans, yourself included, should maybe turn up and try to support the team... you never know, the support might actually lift them a little. Wow. Just wow. Someone get that man a fucking medal. I can't believe you'd sacrifice your Saturday to watch them, you're such a hero. Please can I have your autograph? Maybe I should take a leaf out of your book and get a flight back to Manchester every weekend (oh, and midweek matches too). That's a 40 hour round trip, would that validate my opinions on things then, in your eyes? Prick. Edited October 4, 2014 by SnoopJohnnyJohn Quote

hughmungus Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Gartside didnt show for 2nd half Yes he did but he was sat at the back of the directors box next to Warburton and Alan Walsh. Quote
Casino Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 indeed, though he was pretty shit on their first goal and what was he doing with those corners Quote
Guest Blixa Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 He took off with the gate receipts! If he puts it all on a rank outsider as manager, then employs him on a two-week contract, we could be quids in. David O'Leary in. Quote
marple whites Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) Yes he did but he was sat at the back of the directors box next to Warburton and Alan Walsh. Sat hiding behind his laptop all effing game. Today showed how inept the managers players and the players gartside ratified to sign, actually are. The playing staff are pretty poor and the person coming in has a massive, massive job. Good luck. Edited October 4, 2014 by marple whites Quote
