Didledee Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Spain lost and highly rated new Belgium lost again, these results will have no bearing on next years WC, won't be losing sleep over England's two losses. Quote

Didledee Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) germany brazil final argentina and one other in the semi There are better unseeded teams than some that are seeded so the likes of Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina etc could be in a really difficult group. Spider Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Brazil will win it in second gear Ze Germans will come closest Spain are on the wane. Quote
Guest bwfcdan Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Gibraltar played for the first time in a friendly last night after joining UEFA. Held Slovakia to a 0-0 draw, excellent result for them. Already puts them above Scotland in the rankings I'd imagine Quote

MalcolmW Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Mexico are through after winning 4-2 in NZ (3-3 on bookings). Quote
Rembrandt Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I support the Cook Islands as my 2nd team. Doubt they'll ever qualify for a World Cup though. Have the Falklands not got into the act yet ? Quote
no balls Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Brian Laws sacked at scunny. Mid table aren't they? Quote
gonzo Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Mid table aren't they? All down to them losing to local rivals Grimsby according to talksport. I never knew they were rivals till I heard that. El Fishico Quote

MalcolmW Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Jordan managed a 0-0 draw in Uruguay, but their 5 goal loss at home in the first leg leaves Uruguay as qualifiers. Note that Uruguay won the first World Cup AND the first World Cup held in Brazil. They now aspire to win the first World Cup Final held in Brazil. Quote
Sweep Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Note that Uruguay won the first World Cup AND the first World Cup held in Brazil. They now aspire to win the first World Cup Final held in Brazil. Whilst we're talking about incredibly dull facts about Uruguay that nobody gives a toss about...what about this one. Uruguay remained undefeated in matches at the World Cup Finals from the very first game they played on 18th July 1930 in their own country until they lost in extra time to Hungary in the semi-finals on June 30th in the 1954 Finals that were held in Switzerland. Proper dull fact! The fact that they didn't bother to enter in '34 and '38 clearly helps though... Quote
tarian1979 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Got a couple of quid on uruguay at 40s as an outside bet Quote
Zico Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Colombia at 25/1 might be tempting for an each way bet (or whatever it is where they get to the semis) Quote

Marc505 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Colombia at 25/1 might be tempting for an each way bet (or whatever it is where they get to the semis) Good bet that, I rate them but probably not enough to win it, ace couple of strikers and really solid from back to front. Only Pele tips Columbia to win World Cups though. Quote
tarian1979 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Depending on how the draw pans out next month, i would not at all be surprised to see 3 south americans in the semi finals Quote
