Anyway, no-one does pile ons about United better than Neville and Keane, looking forward to it.

Absolutely. I'm watching them now & I must say they're wading in magnificently.

Damnit I switched over to the farmers league. I'm sure the clips will be shared by countless football banter accounts soon.

Speaking of farmers leagues... Ajax bottom of the league. Don't think I've ever seen that in my entire career as a human.

Hopefully the gift of Ten Haag spreads further

It was calm but passionately delivered. Not simply about today's game but the failure of manager after manager, the cost of chopping & changing, the impact of new managers chucking existing players to one side & bringing in a pile of others. Cliques forming, well paid players sticking around. Not to mention the Football Office, all fearful for their jobs in an unstable atmosphere.

Then re. Jim Radcliffe coming in, but with only 25% of the shares, saying he'll redirect the footballing side ... but his £1.25bn spend going straight into the Glazier's pockets. That the one magnificent ground is now old, out of date & clearly in need of development. Overshadowed by many new ones these days.

Oh, & Bruno  Fernando's may be a good player but has a terrible * negative effect & isn't a captain while he has a hole in his arse.

Oh, and oh again ... Anthony is a fecking disgrace & the sooner he's sorted out the better.

Plus ... they played shite.

Otherwise it was quite positive.

I’d swap to be fair then probably skulk off. They deserve every inch they have been given.

I wouldn't swap what we want to achieve with a team that has nothing else to achieve.

I would if I could see us do the bit in between.

Love how we think our Premier League and European success was self made and all sustainable :D

We were bankrolled just the same as City.

Nobody was complaining at Bayern Munich that night.

That's a quite unnecessary degree of reason & balance. Shame on you.

We've been doing the bit in-between for over a hundred years. Be careful what you wish for.

Anyway, Newcastle are going to be the new elite of the elite. Won't be long now before Hollywood, Bollywood and NBA stars are packing out St James' Park.

The achievements of Sam Allardyce were generally self funded, the big losses  came after Allardyce left. eg Bolton made a  large profit in the transfer market in the summer of 2000 selling Jensen, Gudjohnsen and Fish before the promotion season.

Bayern Munich came 6 months after Allardyce resigned so i would say that up to that point it was pretty much self funded

People who didnt compare other clubs accounts didnt realise that even though Djorkaeff and Bobic  were on a good wage Bolton still had the smallest wage bill in the PL in 2001/02

Anyone still the the lad is over hyped?

Not sure anyone has over hyped him other then perhaps Birmingham when they retired his shirt after selling him aged 17 and only having played 40 games / one season for them

The Olympic Stadium in Montjuic if I'm not mistaken

Recognised it as Espanyols home ground, but turns out they left it about 15 years ago

You can't win them all obviously. But the point I'm making is the fans probably go in to every game expecting to win at least 3-0. When you've won everything that's on offer where do you get you kicks from? Being a City fan now is light-years away from being a City fan at Maine Rd.

I miss the Man City of Maine Road.  Part of the rich tapestry of what made the league what it was, they had that niche of being the big club that could never quite win anything, and their fans were considered salt of the earth because of it, always striving to be important but never quite managing it.  Newcastle were similar, even that fun is being taken away now.  Only Everton are really left of the under achieving big clubs, but they'd need to be relegated to truly take over the City/Newcastle role of the 80s and 90s.

If I was a City fan I do think I'd struggle for motivation, do they start each season just worrying they might not win every trophy?
