onlyoneawalker Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Great attendance bet not far off league game - how many did they bring? Also spearing still can't get a game on his way I'd say Quote
COYW Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Only two other third round games today had bigger attendances. Lennon said he's been impressed with the support particularly in the last three games. Quote
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Apparently Lennon only told Clough he was playing an hour before kick-off. Not 3 weeks before? Quote
DomRepWanderer Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Give us fans something to smile about, and we'll turn up. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Apparently Lennon only told Clough he was playing an hour before kick-off. Another great bit of management? Whatever the case it worked for him to have played so well Quote
COYW Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Jack Dearden comparing Clough to Francis Lee earlier on. Mind you he did keep calling Al-Habsi, 'Hasbi' all the way through the game. Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Another great bit of management? Whatever the case it worked for him to have played so well Tell the lad the night before he might worry about the game so yes good management Going to be a big turn out next round away or home Quote
captainmed Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Good win Bolton. Glad Rotherham game is now off as well as I couldn't have gone. Fancy us to hammer Leeds next week. Quote
white noise Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 A 19 year old potential super star in a white shirt, how exciting............ Quote
wayne cramp Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 was cloughs debut as good as nicky brookmans ? Quote
HR Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Not seen a kid make such a debut impact since McAteer. He was composed all game and ran effortlessly with the ball at his feet. Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Lennon said Trotter was outstanding - was he? Quote
MalcolmW Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 A 19 year old potential super star in a white shirt, how exciting............ A summary of that Youth Cup match 2 seasons ago from "Spurs Odyssey" - the highest visiting score ever at WHL. : "This was a proper old fashioned youth game with plenty of goals. Spurs started well playing good passing football but Bolton defended in depth and were countering with the pace of Walker and Lester and the tricky Youngs, who found defenders unwilling to tackle him. Bolton's direct fast paced attacks were in contrast to the more patient build-up of Spurs' passing game. The turning point was the two quick goals against the run of play that hit Spurs confidence and put Bolton in the driving seat which they never lost. Spurs play became more disjointed as confidence faded leading to mistakes that cost goals." Quote
Barnstoneworth White Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Clough's debut was even better than McAteer's debut against Rochdale in the FA Cup all those years ago. Wigan brought a surprising number to the Macron ( similar to Blackburn) in what was their Cup Final Quote

jagermoot Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I'm also keen to hear on why trotter was outstanding today too. Quote
ex_midlandwhite Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Delighted with Clough's peeformance. Would be nice to see him at Wilkinson featuring second half of the season, starting to get a few kids through is how Derby built up and great for them to learn from Eidur. Thought Lennon got line up spot on today. When did Wigan become so bad, thought they looked really poor. Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Wigan were shocking 1st half we could have been 3 up. Onward and upward, In Lenny we trust. Quote
oggybwfc Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 That was fucking Ace thought everyone played well.Special mentions for Pratley, Vela and Bogdan but all the special praise goes too Clough he bossed the game and looked so confident on the Ball you find it hard to believe it was his debut. I also loved how Lennon hugged and had a word in his ear when he brought him off. Top class Man/Boymanagement. Quote
clown Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Wigan are a shambles. Take a bow Zak. Vela consistently good. Feeney tireless. Defence solid. Chelsea at home please. Quote
COYW Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 His Grandma was on GMR earlier. She sounded so proud she was close to tears. Said he's been at the club since he was eight. Denton lad apparently. Quote

QFPants Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Thought it was him who played Clough in, super ball whoever it was.Thought it was him that played Feeney in for his one on one first half too, broke up play and won some headers in midfield. Not saying he played like champagne Stevie but he was far from shit. Quote
