We stayed at the Salutation Hotel in Ambleside a few weeks ago swimming pool and spa in the hotel and loads of good pubs.

looks belting that place, hot tubs on the balcony, don't fancy paying over £200 for one night though

We stayed at the Borrowdale hotel nr Keswick a few months ago, cracking hotel, top class food too. My next door neighbour has just returned from her parents house in the lakes and the area is in a right mess still with the floods.

Plus, if you feel the need to have a dig at scousers, take a piss in the lake and be safe in the knowledge that one day, one of them will drink it

As will all the Bombay Sapphire drinkers as they use the water from Lake Vyrnwy

Great hotel mind

Guys thatched hamlet.

Nowhere near the lakes mind :)

If this bastard rain keeps falling, it'll soon be on the edge of the Lake District.

Stayed at the water head, great hotel but a bit of a hike to the town centre. Go on the salutation web site and join the Westmorland club, it's about £15 you then get discount when you book 10% off food and drink plus £28 voucher to use in the restaurant.

Haha. The amount of times I've googled this place after your recommendations on here and wondered why you love it...
