ex_midlandwhite Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 passing it to our 'footballing' midfielder who is playing right back? freeze the picture as he gets it and hes got the best part of a quarter of the pitch to himself its not the fault of amos that vela fcuks up check out the second goal and play spot the right back We've not had a RB on the pitch most of the season despite having had two in the squad but that's not Vela's fault! Quote
Casino Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 indeed but he must have played 30 odd games there now ive seen amos and mark davies blamed for the goal and id say both are way less culpable than vela he gets the ball in an easy position (having asked for it) and by the time he gets it to davies, theres a fella all over him maybe davies could've leathered it into the stand but it shouldnt have come to that and on the second goal, im wondering if hes got back, yet Quote
Casino Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 in velas defence, when he receives the ball, you could throw a blanket over about 6 of ours Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Doesn't help Dershite keeps switching off either Quote
Casino Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 not sure he 'switches off' on any of those i do think he gets done for pace on the first Quote
Cheese Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 We lost. We'll probably win next week. The level of analysis some of you are delving in to is fucking ridiculous. Quote
Casino Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 maybe if i thought the manager gave it half as much thought, id not be as bothered Quote
tomski Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Thought as a whole we played ok. Between both teams there was 7 chances and 5 goals. The feeney chance was crucial. I'll not give up the ghost but I think we are down.the team around us are picking up results we won't sadly. Quote

captainmed Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Played well overall and the players yesterday gave everything. Point is though that the away record is a disgrace and we aren't good enough. Yesterday was the day when I've prepared myself mentally for relegation. My son was enthusiastically telling me how many "new" grounds there is for him next season on the long journey home earlier. Every cloud....... Quote

MancWanderer Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 On the whole it was a decent game yesterday. Can't fault the effort of the players However, what I can fault is just the simple things. Pass and move Control the ball, look up, and play it to a team-mate If you're a defender and their defender/midfielder has the ball and one of their players makes a break down the middle it's pretty fucking obvious what's going to happen next, so anticipate it and move to cover it If you're under pressure and had a bad ball played to you, don't fanny around, just get rid even if its into Row Z This lot are supposed to be good enough to play in the second tier of English football. They're not. Can't blame Lennon for yesterday. He put out what team he could. They just couldn't do it despite their efforts Quote

Gonk Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 You've got to hold and give,But do it at the right time You can be slow or fast, But you must get to the line Quote
MancWanderer Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 If any of them are coasting thinking that they'll get picked up by another club if/when we get relegated they are in for a shock Any scout/coach/manager worth their salt can see that they just can't/won't do the basics right Quote
bolton va va Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Just back.......odd game this, since most of our players played poorly & yet we competed all through the game & still had a chance right up to the end. The Feeney 1 on 1 was an important miss but TBF they had plenty chances also.....we didn't deserve to win but might have pinched a point. There was no lack of effort from any of our players. Plusses were Holding's assured use of the ball but he's still learning defensively, & Spearing was MOM, not perfect, but a tremendous battling effort that showed some leadership. The games are running out but i've not given up yet, while the players are still putting up a fight. Quote
SatanGreavsie Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 If any of them are coasting thinking that they'll get picked up by another club if/when we get relegated they are in for a shock Any scout/coach/manager worth their salt can see that they just can't/won't do the basics right and the thing is they actually have chance now to boost their CVs; all of football knows the extra crap we've been through. If you're playing for a team who are just shit and you go down then it's hard to spin that. But with all that's gone on (and the one thing that will get sympathy from other players/managers is not being paid), if they dragged themselves out of this then being a part of a team that overcame that level of adversity must actually be something that helps their cause when they move. But they have to do it... Quote
enzo gambaro Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) A fair few people have offered it up as a viable option, but this site would go into meltdown if our players started hoiking the ball into the stand every time they felt a bit uncomfortable in possession. Iles would have to start including row Z occupants in his match ratings. Edited February 15, 2016 by enzo gambaro Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Watching some of our performances and mistakes you could be excused for thinking some of our players were in the hand of dubious over seas bookmakers. Obviously that's not the case but some of the fuck ups and performances leave me incredulous. Quote
