Guest
No display I don't think. Never really checked. I'll have to see if there's any signs up. Just dumped it and went for the train as hp was full. Then call Northern Rail* and ask them to pay it * or whoever has the franchise
Site Supporter Cheese Posted May 12, 2016 Site Supporter Share Posted May 12, 2016 I got done in St Annes a few month back. Was driving round for fucking ages trying to find a parking space, then got one right outside the entrance to the pier. I was so delighted I completely forgot to buy a ticket. Think it was £60 if paid within 14 days, rising to £120. I paid the fine the next day as it was clearly my own fault Still think having to pay for parking at hospitals is a fucking disgrace though. Especially when they're charging staff.

If they didn't charge folk would park on there and walk to work Charging staff is out of order though

If they didn't charge folk would park on there and walk to work Charging staff is out of order though That's a decent point. Surely there's a way they could police that though? They could give you a barcoded ticket as you exit the hospital or something? Nobody in their right mind would pretend to be a patient/visitor 5 days a week in order to get free parking close to their place of work. My other sticking point is; most (if not all) hospital carparks are run by private companies. I know the hospitals get a cut of the profits, but the idea of someone running a business that makes a financial profit from people making unavoidable/necessary hospital visits doesn't sit well with me. I get what you mean But, assuming that we should maximising the spend on care, then charging for parking is fine That said, I guess there's plenty of other waste to sort out in the NHS
stevieb
I think the multi storeys in Manc have staff levels, it's then fairly cheap for patients and relatives.

Even then, should we really be propping up our health service by forcing nurses and their patients to park? Edit: Just realised I've inadvertently hijacked the thread. Apologies. If they didn't charge folk would park on there and walk to work Charging staff is out of order though why would anyone want to park in farnworth? I'm currently at Bolton A&E. As well as it being grim as fuck they've charged me £3 for the pleasure.

To get it you had to give car details, who you were visiting etc, saved a fortune Not sure if all hospitals do that though

BOWTUN BAKED
Just got one from parking on Scotts all day. Parking charge notice. £85 reduced to £50 if paid in 14 days. Ignore it or am I fucked? Is it from ParkingEye? Just got one myself It was on a private car park at night. All the businesses were shut & it is well signposted that only an hour & half is free parking. The confusion myself & my passengers had with the signage, is it was unclear if they meant 24/7 or during business hours or what? Unfortunately I overran the time & now been hit with the £85 fine, £50 if paid in 14 days. Any ideas from the WW sages?
Moderators Casino Posted May 12, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 12, 2016 i mentioned ages back id heard on some consumer show that the law had changed in some instances, the law had been changed so that on some car parks, the owners could charge a fee relative to their losses so, if it was shut, theyd struggle to argue theyd lost owt

Whizz
Tell them you'd had a dozen pints so it would of been illegal to remove the car from the car park. By doing this, they didn't incur any losses.

I'm a white van man too, mines a transit, the one in the photo was a box van. Took months to sort, had to get the police involved.
