Thanks for banging on about it. We're all eternally grateful for your insight

  • I like how they have voted Chris Powell as their first choice.   Not many clubs can say they have had two black managers in a row.

Don't think we can sign free transfers yet can we?

No, as I understand it we can't sign anybody whilst under this embargo

every chance holdsworth sees that as his job

I doubt it or we ain't getting anyone but Reid to "manage"

KA will fancy the transfer bit though

You understand it perfectly.

We can't sign any freebies who'll even play for free.

Anewman says McDermott

That's todays rumour, I'm not sure what I think about McDermott to be honest

McDermott busted flush I reckon

No thanks

Who the new manager is, that's the least of our worries. If we can't sign any players under the embargo and can't get the wage bill down doesn't matter who it is. Anyone who thinks we haven't appointed someone as part of a considered, coherent plan by the club is deluding themselves. The club is in chaos and I am not blaming Deano or KA for that either.

One interesting thing the Bolton News did say, hidden away in some article about the embargo a bit ago was that it affected the scope of our choices for manager as well as signing players. Never mentioned since so is it true or more Bolton News bullshit?

He's probably hinting that that we cant pay compo under the embargo, definitely rules Nolan out because Orient hold his playing registration.

But we cant to afford to pay compo anyway so maybe a bit of a red herring.

Nolan could buy out his orient contract with his own money.

Goes to show that footballers are too-greedy bastards that this barely ever happens.

puts holdsworth in a somewhat philanthropic light if i think about it

why use your own money when you're getting paid where you are??

Surely the implication is that no manager with even half a brain would willingly take on a post where his scope for improving the squad externally is nil.

Maybe, just maybe, someone with a point to prove who is independently wealthy could be interested, but otherwise it is down to someone with a soft spot for the club - maybe Reid, definitely Holdsworth.

From what I remember the article said we couldn't offer a contract to a manager who didn't already have one i.e. who wasn't in a job already. It was about the terms of the embargo ,whether than anyone would fancy it or not. But like I said it's never been mentioned before or since so don't know if it's true?

Considering we are in such a shit situation and it is extremely common knowledge that we are.

I think that fact the we had 50 plus applicants (think sweaty Ken mentioned 90?) and McDermotts agents where straight on the phone, says a lot..

We can't survive on our history or heritage, but we have got 10/12000 season ticket holders and 10000 other fans that love the club and will turn out when things get good.

The squad we have (at present) has a team within it capable of doing something in Div 3 (let's not call it names)

A new Manager could actually get that team playing or trade to get a team that can play. I can still see a light at the end of the tunnel, and I'm convinced it's not a train.

Still don't like or trust Sweaty Ken though

Think Anderson is try to do some fancy refinancing to avoid putting any of his own money in.

The auditors aren't going to sign the going concern statement in the accounts unless one or the other happens which means that we will be stuck with the embargo.

All these so-called top names aren't anything of the kind and must admit I can't warm to any of them.

Even so why would anyone who had an alternative take the job with an embargo?

Spot on

If we can get the mentality of the players remaining right we should piss this league; IF

Nolan could buy out his orient contract with his own money.

There's nothing commendable in the current ownership trying to swap a Wonga loan taken out in desperation at the start. It also doesn't suggest anyone has the funds available to buy back the assets.

Is our embargo a special one

I thought if you got shut of a player (s) you could replace with ones on a much lower wage?

Not that I'm arsed

It's cricket season and the suns been shining

I think we are on total ban

Got a strong inkling that this time next week, I'll have a strong inkling.

I think so, in so much as we didn't fail FFP per se, but the non submission of Accounts means we can't sign anyone. Ever Again.
