We stayed in Antibes, 10 miles near Cannes, beautiful

Can't say much about Nice centre as I was only their a few hours

The ground is fucking miles out of town though, get the horrendous bus (45 mins jam packed) it's the only way, we got the train to the airport and walked it for 45 minutes from their on the way in (red hot). Left early to head towards the taxi rank but no taxis so walked back towards the airport then paid rediculous money flagging a taxi to save half the walk. It really is in the middle of nowhere mate

If your in Nice a few days defo head to Antibes / Juan le Pins / Cannes for a day or 2 superb!

P.s - about 25 mins on train from Nice to those areas, trains run regularly and until about 11pm

I've just experienced this. Free coach from the Fanzone in Nice to the ground on matchdays (all public transport is free on matchdays in Nice as an apology to people for the traffic says the lady at my hotel)

But, they drop you a 1 or 2km walk away from the ground, it was fucking torture in that heat. Then the same back. If there's a few of you Id consider a taxi. Can barely walk now.

Doing a walking challenge with work for charity so weve all got pedometers, I've done 109,000 steps since Friday. Knackered.

How far is that then Malc?

By my rough calculations (subject to the size of the step) that's around 50 to 55 miles

Not overmuch in 6 days

I average 11,000 steps a day according to my iPhone dashboard thingy.

I tried to get an Uber, they jammed the prices sky high, was something rediculous like 100 euro to get back to the station - didn't fancy that between me and the Mrs! But then ended up flagging one down and giving them 40 after we had walked half way - ha ha

If they're is 3 of you tgen it is probably worth getting a return taxi from town to the stadium and pay in advance. Saw loads who had done this and had a taxi waiting for them at an agreed pick up place (we were trying every taxi)

Their is a small hotel / retail park the opposite site of the stadium from the city / free buses - easy enough to get away if you meet them there

Your hotel should be able to arrange for you

I fancy Poland over the Swiss

Wales over NI, but you never know

Croatia to beat Portugal, but if Ronaldo shows up that can change

france to beat Ireland

Germany to beat Slovakia

Belgium to beat Hungary, but if the Belgians play like in their first game and Hungary keep attacking you never know

Italy Spain could go either way

We must beat Iceland surely

I think there's a still a few twists yet

Spain struggled to break the Czech's down and couldn't finish Croatia off.

I can see Italy keeping them out and nicking one

IMO of course

The number of steps required to offset the amount of blue cheese I've scoffed is yet to be determined!
