The Unabomber, to take one example, was a Lone Wolf Nutjob. The reason being he hasn't been copied several dozen times since, nor does he have tens of thousands of like-minded people shouting from the rooftops that they intend to carry out similar atrocities. The truth is that the whole tactic of IS/Al Qaeda is to inspire pricks like this to carry out their bidding. Backed with a religious zeal that is barking mad, it makes for a dangerous enemy. The tactic is also clever in that they know the reaction will isolate other knife-edge islamist sympathisers to fall off the Koran cliff and go out to do the same. Now then, couple this with a country where you can buy machine guns with your morning milk and the problem at America's doorstep becomes apparent. The US is prime for multiple attacks of this nature. These are not Lone Wolves. Anders Behring is a once-in-a-generation type, along with the Dunblane fella. The Islamists are potentially next door to us. I'll still defend a Muslim's right to practice his religion, regardless of how stone age it is, but the sooner we admit this won't go away and face up to the fact that Islam itself needs to do more than simply say sorry, the better.
