  • Ah, those lads who wanted their country back , upset by foreigners who came over on boats pinching  all the houses and land and changing the native culture and not assimilating into it.  thought you

  • Benedict Cumberbatch played Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, he's not even a proper bummer.

  • Not quite a show… but the missus has fallen asleep mid program; I do it all the time, just watch on… she doesn’t agree. She’s now fallen asleep 3 times during last 10 mins of episode of Outlaws.

OK, but if you insist...

Amy Winehouse on House Wine

Is that like normal wine but laced with Ecstasy?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Ainsley Harriott on Billy Whizz, Joe Pasquale on Spice and Temazepam and, most of all, Eamonn Holmes on para-Methoxyamphetamine.

Our combine it into "A quiet evening in with Youri"

Stuck into this 10 part Vietnam War documentary on BBC4. Thought it was a re-run of a really old one but Wikipedia tells me its brand new.

Very interesting, and a fine soundtrack as most Vietnam War stuff has.

Just came on here to recommend this series

Up to episode 7 and it's fucking brilliant

I've always been fascinated by the Vietnam War as it was the first one that I was aware of as a kid (seeing it on the news and having a much older "hippy" brother who used to talk about it) Watched all the films and documentaries and read a shed load of books on it but this is really good

The echoes of American foreign policies brought forward to the present/recent day are frightening

What is great are the interviews with the VietCong/N Vietnamese soldiers

A very, very good watch and highly recommended

Mindhunter on Netflix, serial killer detective type thing set in the 1970s from David Fincher. Pretty good so far - 2 episodes in.

Been watching this too. Now on episode 6 and really enjoying it.

I've seen the first two episodes and enjoyed it, just wondering if shit's gonna actually happen?

I wouldn't smoke Spice nor knowingly take PMA (aka 'Doctor Death') - swap them for a ball of opium and some Mescaline and perhaps it'd be a goer...

I'd never, ever drink Carling either, ever.

Walking dead back tonight, for the dodgy amongst us.

It needs a rocket up its arse to save it after a poor S7 imo (not including Negans role). It needs to trim down on characters and communities. There’s far too many irrelevant characters and plots going on.

Well, I'm now on episode 9 of 10 and not much shit has happened, but this series still keeps you hooked.

These flash backs and flash forwards do mess with my head

New curb has been superb so far

The Deuce on Sky Atlantic from the makers of The Wire. Got the makings of a classic I think. Excellent so far.

Recording this to watch in blocks.

hate watching stuff weekly

Mindhunter, decent start

Just finished the Vietnam War documentary series.

Can't wait for the sequel on the Iraq invasion. The similarities are unreal.

Anyway very disappointed that after ten hours and countless interviews with the veterans not one said "you don't know man, you weren't there!"

Did you notice John Kerry, as a young veteran, as spokesman for the VVAW?

If you can't wait for the sequel, go for the prequel M*A*S*H about the Korean War.

Just watched the pilot for The Deuce. Looks promising.

Up to Episode 7 now myself, been compelling viewing. What an absolute tragedy this misadventure snowballed into, can't say many (any?) of the American politicians have come out of this with much credit so far.

Some of the lessons not learned for the future are glaring too. Hopefully a decade or so down the line we'll get a similarly high quality look back at "The War On Terror"

Good first episode, but Ricks speeches are really getting on my tits. In fact I wouldn’t mind him meeting Lucile.

If you bother with books try "The Unravelling" by Emma Sky, subtitled "High Hopes and Missed Opportunities in Iraq".

Gunpowder

3 parter bout guy fawkes on iplayer

First episode was very good, brutal torture scenes

Got one ep lined up

Need to fire it up but got myself into the latest series of house of cards

Wish I knew what was going on
