OK, ignoring Bolty as the odd squad he is.

I've got two free tickets to an immersive Guardians of the Galaxy thing in Wembley.

Now, I'm going to go as it's free drinks all night but does anyone know what this film is, what to expect and why people pay 150 quid a ticket for it?!?!?

I unfortunately work in the media, and we are as capitalist and untrustworthy as the Conservatives. I'll do you over for a sale.

The BBC is filled with some amazing people, some total arsewipes, and a ton of posh public school ladies who work in production.

It is in by its very core unbiased. We opened an exhibition in Media City last week (big gig for our small firm) and ITV and BBC have pitched and covered as balanced as.

My other half has had to spend Christmas eve and New year's eve there and it's hard, commercial pitching and pr.

But even though both of us have worked in it for 20 odd years, my folks will sit down and tell us how the media works, because a bit of GB News and Boomer FM and that's as good as a profession.

And we sit and nod, and that's really all you can do.

Now then - I started watching The Peripheral last night. Only watched the pilot so have three episodes to catch up on which have screened so far. Will appeal to the sci fi types and those who like blondes in tiny shorts.

Bit of a weak night on main channels so catch ups for us tonight. If you like Scandi Noir stuff and don't mind all the subtitles, Wisting on BBC4 is good. Onto second series of it. 

Mortimer and Whitehouse filled an hour before MOTD2,  easy going stuff and a few laughs

As others have said, The Walk In is very good

Yep, as I said earlier in the thread, Wisting is excellent. Watched all 3 series.

You have to be joking about The Walk In. Some of the most over exaggerated bullshit I think I have ever seen. Binned it when it showed women and kids being headbutted by 'far right extremists'. Leftist propaganda of the worst kind.

If you are going to highlight the dangers of obnoxious extremists, at least make it believable. Goebbels would have been proud of that series if he'd leant to the left.

Be nice for some balance for once with someone showing the dangers of the extreme left/anarchists but of course that won't happen as long as we have a woke media, police force and judiciary.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a Marvel thing and it is brilliant. So it is Marvel and some people pay a fortune just because of that. 
 

Have you really not seen the film ? If so it is well worth a watch it works fine as a stand alone film although is part of the whole Marvel series.

Can't say I've done the Marvel thing, seen the first Iron Man and watched the latest Spider Man film with the kids but hadn't a clue what was going on (thankfully we went to a picturehouse so I could drink wine - it went on forever)

Going to go as I'm interested in why people like these things. I'll watch the film first otherwise I won't know what to do when I get put into my 'team' 😄

It also means I dont have to watch the fim at the end of the experience.

Nah 2 hours or so , the first is genuinely really good. Watch that. Second not so good. 
Tell people you are focussed on the characters from the first and then add some arty farty bollocks. It will be like a busman's holiday for you.

Watched the first of an ITV two parter a couple of weeks back called Police, Camera, Murder? Has the second been screened yet? One of the murders was in Bolton. Can't seem to find the second part on any of the usual streaming channels.

Whilst I am at it - any update on that BBC detectives fighting major crime series? The last time we discussed this there was some conjecture that the next one would be a two or three parter on the Rochdale Groomers? Any updates?

The scene in question was based on an attack on women and children which what prompted to protagonist to start to turn his life around.
