Are you his agent?

What does he do well?

An honest hard working pro 👏

All about opinions, but he wouldn't trouble many div 2 defences.

We're at a level of football where trying hard and putting effort in isn't enough. Victor can run around and press and be a model professional but he doesn't score enough goals. Add to that his hold up play is below standard. You say there's a player in there but I'm not sure what your basing this on. Dion is a penalty box player. Victor is a 6 yard box player. He's a tap in merchant. Look at all his goals he's scored for us. Everyone 6 yard box. He needs everything on a plate for him. We can't afford to carry him.

Don’t worry guys. He’s off to Turkey soon, eh @tomski

I'd back myself to score the goals Vic has

Perhaps he’s off to place same Evatt went to get his teeth done.

I can see Vic just FILLING in for rest of season when there’s a bit of DECAY, in the front line

I was at that match and had a neutral friend in the Derby end. At the end of the match his summary was "Bolton pass the ball about nicely but why won't they shoot?"

The save from the Bod header was excellent, but other than that I can't remember "good" chances, a half chance shot from Dempsey maybe? I'll have a look back a the highlights in a bit

As frustrating as it is that we don't pull the trigger, one of the reasons we don't is that we just aren't very good at it, so it just coughs up possession.  We don't seem to prioritise signing players with good shooting technique from any distance, yet we see 20 yarders scored every week in L1 and L2.

Collins is the clear exception.

Tomo's good for a long ranger on target if we're playing Blackpool, terrible if we aren't.

We used to have Dapo, Sadlier and dare I say Sarcevic that would regularly at least test the keeper from distance, if its not Collins now we harldy ever get an oooohhhh from open play never mind a goal.

A lot of the service our strikers used to get was from our wingbacks we don't play that way anymore, we've also downgraded in those positions so our goal hangers are having to come deep which isn't exactly their strong point.

I was explaining part of my reason for defending him, not giving a reason why I think he’s the next Messi.

As for being an honest hard working pro. It’s the least you’d expect isn’t it. You’d be surprised how many of our squad haven’t been in this first part of the season.

Give it up, pal

Wasting your time

There is nothing to say if we had kept him n dion last year and had a fair run with injuries that we wouldnt have finished top 2

Nothing

He's hit one good shot from outside the box in half a season. And it didn't go in.

Not sure that's the qualifier for being good at long distance shots.

I've said what a good player he is a few times, but aside from the Lincoln game he's shown no appetite for shooting.  Maybe he'll step up now and take a few more pot shots.

Hopefully Randall's got it in his locker too.

i share the frustration, but something like 80% of goals scored are within the box- the majority of which with one or two touches, and within the 'second six yard box'. whats more frustrating are the morons behind me who scream 'bloody hit it' when we are 30 yards from goal.

Well if people don't try, or are barred from trying, from outside the box that's sort of self-defining.

Even 'long ball Sam' told players not to shoot long.

Many goals inside follow deflections, botched clearances, keeper error follow-ups and the like. So that statistic needs a second layer.

It's a surprise that 1 in 5 come directly from long shots tbh.

Said it before but all our best runs and patches of good form over the last year or so are when Vic and Dion play together.

On paper I would have Vic 4th choice in the 4 forwards we have but we just seem to win when he plays.

He just seems to be a better foil for Charles.

Begs the question why?

What is it that has changed from last season (first part at least)?

If they're not doing the basics you require of a professional, then they should be dropped until they do.

Unless of course there are other problems within the whole playing/coaching structure that has demotivated/pissed off etc a good number of them.

In which case those problems need addressing; and one way or the other, the culprits sorted out/got rid off.

Aye.

Vic isn't a lot of things, but saying he only gets tap-ins as a sort of criticism is a bit unfair.

He's been that sort all the time, so Evatt should have ensured that our style of play sees plenty of early crosses for him to attack.

If he has a knack of being in the right place to finish them off then great.

If we're not going to play that way, then get rid, as he's not going to become anything different.
