Not sure the Tomo money is going to get us a striker of the quality folk seem to be demanding.

Unless an unknown non-league type or foreign player is available, that we can sneak in under the radar.

Would get us Michael Smith and his wages for 18 months Kenny from Celtic we have been quoted a Million

Taylor Wigans player of the year last season on loan from Forrest

Jatta would be available for less than 1.2m

Take any of those four

We've already bought an unknown non league player

Can always get another one!

As for the Celtic lad- I was under the impression that he was signing a contract there, which would mean a loan at best.

Either way, work is needed to get the forward line looking something like.

From what I've read, he's been out loan

Celtic want to see how he does over the summer to see whether they loan, sell or keep

Well, whatever his situation is, we could do with getting him in as soon as possible, and familiarise him with the team.

I’m not sure I wouldn’t rather look elsewhere from Kenny because his hearts clearly at Celtic so it would be at best a loan. I’m sure with the money we will hopefully have we can sign someone permanent and loan in a decent striker as well. Michael Smith would be my permanent choice plus a promising younger player like Taylor or Kelman if available? I’m sure Schu’s got it in hand though and just need the GT sale to go through.

No Luca Connell in Barnsley squad today. Just saying. Thommason's replacement, ???

Even I would be happy with that.

SS confirmed GT offer has been accepted

Made sense when Ceesay seemed to be arriving, but if GT goes that's only 3 players who can play in the 2 in midfield role, one of whom is Sheehan, and the 2 in midfield didn't suit him last year. We'd have to sign someone surely

I thought Sonny looked decent when he came on so why not fit him in there? Luca to Wycombe for my money, sadly not here.

Not sure on the reasoning here.

If we get £1.2m for GT and spend that exact amount on a striker, they'll be among the top 10 most expensive forwards ever bought in League One.

A million quid can definitely buy you a striker with a better record than Big Dave. And Dalby too for that matter.

Surely we need an extra body in midfield ? We were after Ceesay before the GT stories started.

Presumably as well as the GT fee we have the money we did not spend on Ceesay ?

We are not my missus so we do not have to spend the money for the sake of it but hopefully our scouting will suggest some decent targets

£750k for Collins. £1m+ for GT. Baxter & Santos presumably off the books on good wages. Some kind of nominal fee for Southwood.

600k spent on Gale, 300k on Simons. Not sure about Taylor. Couple of kids in on loan.

The suggestion was that the owners were going to be spending outright this summer. So we should still have plenty left.

What's the source for that fee for Gayle?

It seems a lot

The Bolton News quotes it as being a deal 'worth north of £600k'. If you weigh that up next to what we got for Collins and Dion it does seem slightly mental, I'd agree. But in Fergal we trust.

It's never worth getting too bogged down in the specifics of transfer fees though, as there are a million different ways the deals can be structured. I'd guess almost never does a team receive the headline fee up front.

But from that basic analysis we'll comfortably up in terms of income from transfers, which should mean plenty of scope to bring in a few more.

Dalby is clearly going to be the main striker. We don't need to spend big money on another striker. We just need someone of a similar profile who can fill in when dalby is injured or rotated. A loan would make more sense.

We need to get another midfielder and possibly another defender, Who can cover at full back if Taylor is out for a while.

Current midfielders are Simons, Sheehan, Morley, Dempsey and Sharples-Ahmed. In a two.

Current strikers are a guy who was rated by Parky as the 4th/5th best son the books at Wrexham last year (who's now injured). Plus a lad from the 8th tier and an 18-year-old from our own academy.

Dalby has a patchy record, at best. The other two, if they're National League standard currently that's exceeding reasonable expectations.

I think we can, and will, sign a striker and another midfielder. But I know what the priority should be.
