Same as what we play now with Hardie or Rodrigues in for McAtee

McAtee can play/has played as more of a No. 10 though

I'm not aware Hardie can as he seems an out-and-out striker

Perhaps I'm wrong

Not expecting to much from ruben and hardie this season ( if hardie goes through and permanent) More long term Ruben in middle of a pre season in another continent hardie carrying a injury but both look good  signings going forward an upgrade

Burstow must be well pissed off.

He's just a long list of players that are considered 1st teamers but have had long spells of not starting, sometimes without having played badly to get dropped/overlooked:

Gale, Cissoko, Forino, Simons, Taylor, Forss, TSL, Randall, Morley, EE, McAtee, JDC, Forrester.

That's 14 players who all came here to start games and all overlooked currently or previously.

I think he's more of a striker in the Dion Charles mould, presses and plays off the shoulder of the defender

Aye, I thought similar

Signing CBT and Apter tells me we're still committed to playing wingers rather than a back three/wing-backs, and the amateur tactician in me thinks playing a front two as well would leave a lot of space between the midfield and the forwards

But who knows

Hardie knows how to find the back of the net at this level and I think could be a very shrewd signing if it does go through. As far as if he is good enough for the Champ if we do meet our goal of getting there...well let's get there first haha.

Well yes, that's a given

But they've clearly been brought in to play, and if they're as good as we think they are then I think it's difficult to play a formation that has our new wingers and two up front, which is presumably what a Dalby/Hardie pairing will be

Aye.

If it's 4 at the back, then it's back to only 2 midfielders.

If, as most seem to think it should be, one of those is Sheehan, then we may be a touch weak defensively.

I like Rodriquez he has that touch of arrogance but he has not played in eight months....One for the end of the season, next year

Hardie/second striker will make or break us we would be top of the league if we had a Salech, Wootton, Bollard

Apter will be every bit as good as ACD and Blackett-Taylor seems to have a little composure Gale lacks but again is not match fit

I just can't see us going 4-4-2 or back to a back three/wing-backs (at least not regularly/to start with), which we'd surely have to do to play Hardie and Dalby together

We get Hardie in Tomorrow and Mcatee goes to Barnsley and everyone Bar ACD, Taylor, and Forss are available next week what would your team/formation?

4-2-3-1

Whether Rodrigues starts on Saturday or not, there's no way we've brought him in to not contribute this season, and he'd surely be more ready than Hardie, who's been out for weeks with injury and has yet to make a playing return

Hardie isn't doing anything for a few more weeks, as per Parky in that article. And as someone who'd ideally like to shift him, I doubt he's exaggerating.

All these things that look like selection problems have a habit of sorting themselves out.

Rodriquez has not played since may, not a chance he starts Saturday

Maybe not, but he presumably hasn't been sat on his arse either

He'll have been training/playing in the reserves

And he's still more likely to play a part than Hardie

I just don't see us signing CBT and Apter if we're not intending on starting them (at least initally) or moving them botg to wing-back to accommodate a front two

Doubt any of our signings can complete 90 mins at the moment....Apter is probably the nearest, but we have others like Dempsey,Gale and Erhahon who are struggling to complete 90.

We do not have two games a week anymore so its not a big concern

16 games in 13 weeks, so 3 midweek games left (Reading away, Donny home, and Stockport at home on Easter Monday). Stevenage might be moved.

Okay, but back to the original point, although a Dalby/Hardie front two might be an option for us, given we've just signed to wingers to start (I doubt either would be here if that weren't the intention), I can't see a Dalby/Hardie partnership being our first option

It'd have to be one of Dalby or Hardie

But we'll see

Yes not quite the mad house of January. We will get stronger  as we reach the back end/play offs all our signings will be fit bar injuries and we will also have ACD and forss back refreshed
