Primary targets or not, there may be better players at RWB and DM available on loan. Still think we may get a young Prem striker on loan as well. Let’s hope so as we need goals to go up

I’ve stated before that we should of gone up last year. Was defo a missed opportunity but we move on. The pressure is being ramped up internally and will be interesting to see if we live up to it. The club have to nail it this time for me.

As for offers, true we don't know how many offers have been made in total, but that doesn't answer the question I posed: do you think the club, especially one in our position, will make multiple offers to players for one position (or two in the case of rwb)? We all know the honest answer- no. We will simply approach the players we want primarily, first. Anything else is a bizarre, fundamentally flawed idea, from all aspects, particularly financial.

There is a long way between signing a player and initiating initial contact. As we have seen lots of discussions ( I would guess the majority) end up with no signing. One interesting dynamic is that with 3 deals disappearing quite publicly , how many agents will be on the blower with a player who is 'perfect' for our needs. I am a long way off panicking but with IE and SB talking automatic promotion we are currently weaker than at the end of last season. Every faith they will produce something.

In the case of these two chaps, it is reported that offers were made and then deals didn't materialise. Wouldn't surprise me to see the Aussie still arrive, but the point is, if we've made offers for them, then they will have been the first choices. Doesn't overly concern me if they don't all come off, as they rarely all do- as you say alternatives will be on the radar.

June 28, 20233 yr As Evatt alludes to in his interview the place we are shopping now is completely different freebies it’s a 2 party conversation. Do you want to come here? ‘Yes please’ or ‘not thanks I’m off somewhere else’ relatively simple process. the players we’re now after it’s that conversation and if it’s a yes then a discussion with the club they’re at before you even factor in other clubs having the same conversations. so much peacocking, underhandedness, cloaks and daggers, moving of goalposts it’s untrue just look at the Rice debacle. Brady was crowing yesterday about West Ham being the 7th richest club in the prem and with all the money sloshing around in the PL they’re still arguing over £5m add ons being integral to a deal when they’re getting 20 times that too Whilst the amounts down where we are considerably less every single £ is far more important

Have 200k in my head but not sure where from
June 28, 20233 yr Baccus posted this on his Instagram 45 mins ago. Looks fine to me unless they’re old pics
June 28, 20233 yr I think I saw the pic of Baccus wearing the blue bib a day or two ago, maybe on here?
June 28, 20233 yr Nothing wrong with Baccus - he was tearassing round the pitch against Argentina last week. That article by Lies was intentionally ambiguous.

Outfield players: In - Cogley, Sadlier (returned); Iredale and JDB now fit Out - Bradley, Lee and Kachunga. We can forget Shoretire, Mbete and Isgrove as they didn't play. If we played tomorrow and named a squad of 18 we'd have more than enough compared to back end of last season with the exception of the loss of Bradley, but whoever we sign that's unlikely to change. Good post. Also, after listening to Evatts interview, I think it’s a massive plus that these new signings, especially Nlundulu and Baxter (after being loanees all their career so far) now have a home. I think that can make a massive difference to a player, helping to bring out the best in them. He also talked about the importance of a pre-season for the January signings, saying it should make a positive difference to integrating them into our style of play. If all that has a positive affect, there’s reason to believe, that even if we don’t make another signing (which I very much doubt will be the case), we can be stronger than last year.
