I wonder if the Wilson deal stalled because of the player's personal terms or because of the fee? My suspicion is the former. The fact he was allowed to speak to us tends to the theory that a fee had been agreed.

Whether discussions continue will probably depend as much as anything on whether we have other RWB options.

I read before that it was the structure of the add ons they weren’t happy with and the player etc still want the deal to happen. Can’t remember if it was Iles or May have been in the Bristol Post

It's due to the structure of the agreement between the clubs

Future fees, percentages, etc.

Baccus signed, done & dusted according to the Scotchish press.

So a big "yay !! to the guy I'd not heard of last week.

Just seen pics of him training with SM in NI

I'm hearing we're interested in Ethan Chislett soon out of contract at Wimbledon.

We've been linked with him for weeks and yes he is another midfielder who can shoot and has good dead ball skills but I'm not worried as the window has a long way to go and there are likely to be outgoing players as well as incoming before it's over.

Disappointing we’re not getting any of our first picks the Bristol lad and the Aussie. And we aren’t going for the German after all or that’s fell through as well

I honestly can't be disappointed about not sighing any player I hadn't heard of a week ago.

Things happen or don't, for a reason.

Get the feeling some folk just like to moan (when we sign someone unheard of, and also when we dont)

It’ll be disappointing if we don’t sign him as he looks like the right age, type and quality, however if he changes his mind he’s not the type Evatt wants, he wants players who buy into the vision.

It does however highlight that we need out of league 1 so that we can easier attract the better players and fend off competition from championship clubs.

It’s disappointing in the sense that they were probably our top targets or first choices but doesn’t mean there aren’t other good options out there

“The player had been keen on a fresh start in the North West but having done their due diligence, Wanderers have decided that other available options are a better fit.“

from BN article sounds like we pulled out of the deal rather than other way around

Was Wilson our top target ?   We'll never know but what does seem strange is when a player has a medical it's when the transfer price/fees have been sorted.  Very funny how there was then a disagreement on add ons Or have we been given the green light on preferred target and we then messed about on 'the add ons' .

Two ways to look at this and seemed very dragged out after a player had passed a medical.

The old ghost of transfer windows past may have emerged again. Much as I love the speculation, it's so much healthier when the club and the journalists STFU until the deal is irreversibly across the line before announcing anything.

Would expect the ‘due diligence’ to have been done before we made the offer but hey ho. The club won’t be held to ransom particularly from some no mark mob like Bristol city. It’s Just the ebb and flow of the transfer dance between clubs.

still feel quietly confident on Baccus. It’s alright a champ side coming in but depends on who it is. Anyone on a downward trajectory and I think Evatt and his wider team do a good job of selling the vision and outlining the way we play. Everyone we have brought in seems to buy in to that so hopefully he has too

baccus could well be SM trying to get the offer up, which is fair enough on their part

as for the full back, be nice if a new name has come in the frame - poss walker?
