Twatting them in both games this coming season has to come a close second to winning the title. Nothing less.

They could do us again and again for all I care if we get promoted.

The Blackpool Gazette reckons BFC face competition from us to sign George Byers.  I actually already thought he'd gone to Rotherham.

I have no idea what they base this on but they included this as part of it.

Slow news day in the fylde coast sports office it seems

I might have to start reading the Blackpool Gazette regularly, I didn't realise it contained such journalistic insight and originality.

Is this really the best we can do if true? Probably ok for the B Team or as a standby but he’s done nothing and is just another learner when what we really need is experience and proven quality. It would be a typical Evatt and Markham signing but I thought recent events might have shown them that hasn’t worked?

Toal wasn’t a bad signing, when most of us thought he would have played in the b team

I'm hearing maguires available but, oh wait, we're in league one and pay peanuts, what the fuck do you want?

I can't imagine that there will be a complete change in recruitment philosophy from Moneyball to recruiting been there and done it types as they work their way down the leagues, also haven't seen any statements alluding to that. We can't afford, nor would we be attractive to quality players in their prime. If there is any change I can only see it being in terms of game management not recruitment.

My last post was actually a little incorrect factually - he did manage 30 games in each of the past two seasons, and given the rotation last season, he probably only missed a handful through injury.

All the best to you and if he has to leave us, I hope it is a club that is easy to like such as Bolton (we at Wycombe tend to have a fondness for your club).

Wycombe fan here - Chris Forino is an excellent defender, and is probably already Championship quality - QPR were in for him last summer (albeit with an ex-boss of ours at the helm) but the deal fell apart at the line, evidently.

The one caveat - and it is a big one - is that he has picked up a lot of knocks, and has only played half a season with us each year we have had him (we brought him in as a development prospect 3-4 years ago). That being said, we had four excellent CBs last season and rotated a lot, so some of his lower game total was down to that last season.

As far as his attributes, he is composed, quick, good with the ball, and able to chip in with the odd goal (not just the usual CB header from a corner either - he started out life as a forward). He has a great attitude and we desperately wanted to keep him, but no-one really expected to once he was able to wind his contract down.

If you sign him AND he stays healthy, I genuinely think you will end up delighted with him.

Always good to hear a view from those who have watched players regularly. Thanks for sharing.

I think there is mutual respect between our clubs ever since the welcome you gave us in 2019.

@Whitesince63 why on earth would you jump on a potential signing so negatively without knowing the slightest thing about him? Just because we’ve all identified a need for a potential experienced/hardened leader (probably more needed in midfield), it doesn’t mean that every single signing needs to be of this mould.

The majority of our signings/recruitment in the last 4 seasons have done well, you don’t rip up the rule book.

You seem to have been a little bit more considered and less negative/reactionary without consideration, the last few months, with some decent posts, don’t revert back to how you were when you first came on here.

Everyone who comes in, won’t be pre judged by me.

Few rumours on twatter that Kioso is coming back as well.

Now I'd have that all day long.

He's the type of shithouse we need.
