bwfc2003 Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 I think we've got a bit of a dilemma on our hands formation wise, no left wingers, centermids aren't strong enough to play in a two and no striker capable of playing upfront on his own We have to play 3-5-2 on current squad makeup but we definitely need a lot more depth. Howard New CB, Wheater, Beevers Little, Karacan, Spearing?, Vela, Taylor ALF, Madine Bit ropey that for me at the minute. no postman pat? Quote
Anderson Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 no postman pat? Not for me at this level, in a formation where we play actual wingers then definitely but he's not got the defensive capability to play at wingback in this league. We'd get torn apart, especially if it's him and Dervite on that side. Quote
Naytch Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Seen on Facebook we're meant to be in for Reece Burke on loan from West Ham. Any good? Quote
birch-chorley Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 looked good for Bradford in League 1 but only 10 games for Wigan in the Championship last season make of that what you will *Wiki Quote
white noise Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Reece Burke from WHam, maybe this is the pending signing from Lee Anderson's tweet Quote
Biggish Dave Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Wigan think ALF & Taylor are useless too - perhaps that's why they got relegated Quote

Rizlar Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Looks like Reece Burke is signing in loan according to the press PP had him in loan at Bradford has a CB so white noise is officially ITK Quote
Gonk Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 "Burke previously played under Bolton boss Phil Parkinson at Bradford City, where he was also on loan for West Ham and won the Bantams' player of the year award" "The highly-rated 20-year-old also spent last season in the north west, but his spell at Wigan Athletic proved ultimately frustrating. He was restricted to 10 appearances for the Latics, owing in part to a niggling hip problem." http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/06/22/report-west-ham-uniteds-reece-burke-set-for-bolton-wanderers-loa/ Quote
HomerJay Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Clayton gone to Blackpool Surprised as I thought the lad had some real ability before his injury. Quote
DomRepWanderer Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Clayton gone to Blackpool Surprised as I thought the lad had some real ability before his injury. Therein lies the problem, he was a regular on the treatment table. Quote
Sweep Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Clayton gone to Blackpool Surprised as I thought the lad had some real ability before his injury. The lads a perma crock, that's his problem. Hopefully he can get past all the injuries and have a career. Quote
worthy10 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Only spearing remaining out of contract. He's expensive and not irreplaceable for the same money, I think. Then, we need to find pace at the back and up front, and creativity in midfield. Tough ask. In PP and the board we trust! Quote
bwfc87 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Shame about Max Clayton. Looked really promising before he got that freak injury. Someone landed awkwardly on his hamstring iirc. Seems a decent kid so good luck to him. Quote
Blondi Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 What's happened to that long lad ? Think he's back at Burnley. Quote
tomski Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Can someone explain this promising talent Clayton had? I wish him well but he started 10 games in 3 and a half years. Surely no one is upset about him going to Blackpool? Quote

Zico Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Can someone explain this promising talent Clayton had? Scored a goal v wigan on his first start That's it Quote
radcliffe white Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Took his goal well at Coventry thought we may have something here hasn't worked, good luck to him Quote
Lostock Whites Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Unfortunately for our club, still under an embargo, pretty much no money. We can't really afford or realistically keep players who are injury prone most of the time. On the other hand, I think we need younger players in the squad for the long term. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 I reckon the lad needs a good run of games to develop properly. Hopefully he'll get that at Blackpool - and maybe we could nIck him back for nowt at the end of his contract as a far better player if he is another Joey O'Brien. If it opens up a space though for a non permanently injured championship proven player, then it's a good move Quote
