I doubt Wigan or Blackburn will afford what JS is asking for.

Regardless, I think we can get as good if not a bit better for probably 60 per cent of the wages. His pay packet will have been a relic from the days of parachute payments. Different world now. Move on.

Don't worry about him going to Rovers, they won't pay Spearing what he wants. There the next club to go bang. They have been living beyond their means for years.

I think the warning signs were there during last season with Spearing, I seem to remember him once saying after being pressed on signing a new contract that he'd got a young family to look after, in other words ££££.

 

I'm not that fussed that Spearing is leaving, he's been a decent player for us, but he's certainly not irreplaceable and I think we can get just as good for a lot less money than he was probably after.

Wish him well but I've said all along, he's on big money for us and the ferreting that he does is not hard to find for the same £.

Agreed, there will be Africans out there far better at the job than Spearing was for similar or less money.we need Parky to search the foreign leagues to find the next Abdoulaye Faye

He can sign for FC Ibiza for me, got paid very well and only delivered in League One.

As much as I admire Spearing's efforts of last season, good on the club for sticking to their guns.
