So do we still hold the advantage over the EU and we'll get pretty much what we want, as you've suggested all along, or do you now think we won't get everything that we want? - if we do still hold all the cards and everything is still stacked in our favour, then surely it makes no difference if the Tory party has a majority or not.

For what it's worth, I still think that the Brexit negotiations should be done by a cross party team - so we show the EU a united show of strength. Everybody know's that we're leaving, they said as much in their manifestos (apart from the now defunct UKIP and Lib Dems) so should they not work together for the greater good of the UK (I know this can never happen....)

The jobs been messed up by folk who don't want to leave, anything could now happen, cross party team cannot happen it's bad enough having a divided Tory party who now are having to take note of a vociferous minority who can't accept the result. Well done all those folk who are actively working against us getting a good deal, you have now got the result you wanted, that is actively campaigning for Britain to get the worst deal possible just to be in the best position possible to again attempt to overturn the referendum and stay in Europe. Let's not forget that Mrs May is one of those people..................

So all those who voted in Labour MPs (and anybody else other than Conservative) did so in order to put Britain in a position to get the worst possible deal, and ultimately overturn the referendum   -   I know you don't mean that, but it's how it looks.

The problem is that the original Brexit vote wasn't explained properly (by either side) so a lot of people didn't know what they were voting for, coupled with it taking nearly a year to trigger article 50, that should have happened immediately. Folk are now bored of Brexit and have lost interest, as it's taken too long, and we're still yonks away from anything happening.

Alternatively - it was a fucking stupid idea to begin with and we're now beginning to see the consequences of the decision which was taken.

The Government has by and large been given a free ride over Brexit - so any balls up is of its own doing. Nobody is trying to pull the rug from under the negotiations with the exception perhaps of the Lib Dems and they were roundly trounced at the election.

You got what you wanted - and you've been given what we predicted. Turmoil. And that's coming from someone who desperately wants these talks (and the years following our departure) to be a success for the sake of my two year old child.

Added to by the tories deciding to call a pointless election which has done nothing of any benefit for the country and realistically was never going to

Remainers are creating a needless turmoil they have 1 goals to overturn the referendum, without that willingness to create turmoil your prediction would fall flat on its face. It is time that everyone now support the government in achieving a positive outcome for the country.

People didn't vote Labour because of Brexit...Labour were committed to Brexit. They voted Labour because the Tories made a right old hash of it and had a leader more incompetent than Corbyn. She continues to make Corbyn look statesmanlike.

You can't blame the mess of people voting. Blame it on the current governing party and their massive failings over the past few years.

Pat yourself on the back you wasted a vote on labour they could never win you handed the EU more strength and your own nation less power.

May and the rest of the tories handed the EU more power by calling this ridiculous election

I voted Lib Dem. Couldn't vote for either main party as both had major flaws in their policies. Given how incompetent this government is, giving them a big majority would have clearly left us in an even weaker position.

How democratic of you, Mounts.

Our nation will hold considerably less power on the world stage as a result of leaving the EU.

I don't really think we've even got off the start line yet. More limbering up and an analogy would possibly be the U.K. Look a wee bit undercooked on the start line

But it's all due to the election farce. I honestly believe we were pre election in reasonable shape to go out and fight hard. I still think we will put up a bloody good fight, we have to. But if our wonderful politicians continue to make a mockery of things it can only harm all

Of us in the long run

You do understand how this democracy malarky works don't you?

A question- does it really matter if our nation was to hold less power on the world stage?

There are certain things we seem to do well and not sure that will change too much, but as globalisation grows does it matter that much? Maybe time to concentrate a little on our own problems for a bit?

Lib dems wanted to rip up a democratic vote and that's not a major flaw FFS!

I voted remain. At least the Lib Dems were consistent on the issue compared to May and Corbyn. May was a remainer, then suddenly an ardent Brexiter. She couldn't answer when asked, whether she still believed, as she had said previously, that Britain would be poorer outside the EU. And Corbyn wanted to leave but wouldn't say.

I don't have an issue with the referendum. But democracy is such that at a GE I can vote as I see fit as can everyone else. And there is nothing to force people to vote in a certain way.
