Sad news and exactly what Islamic extremists want to happen. I don't want to know how this will all pan out in 10-20 years but I suspect it's going to be bad very bad. I've no idea how we are going to deal with this cultures just seem to be colliding really feel sad for our kids and what a shit world they will have to live in.

Muslims have lived in this country a long time. There are places in the world where the Eastern Muslim cultures and Western non-Muslim cultures live side by side in perfect peace.

 

What is happening is nothing to do with culture. It is to do with some nutjobs being egged on to kill innocent people as they see it as revenge for their "brothers" who were killed by Western bombs. And the reverse. 

 

99.9% of the time the cultures co-exist absolutely perfectly. I have Muslim neighbours. We don't have any issue whatsoever with each others culture. There are some very angry, strange people in all cultures. These are coming to the fore, but they certainly aren't representative of any great cultural struggle.

All very true as is certain sects of Islam interpret the Koran in a way that is at odds with the wests way of life. To deny that makes matters worse it needs addressing and I'm comfortable saying that and it's not racist and until all and sundry admit that it's not going to get better. Certain sects of Christianity interpret the bible in a way that is at odds with Western way of life.I repeat, this is not a clash of Muslims living near Western people. So imagine you're growing up in Syria, Libya, wherever and there's "the west" killing folk around you daily for months and years on end. Or you're growing up in London and seeing those people dying again and again that you feel connected to, via family, religion, the fact that they're humans, whatever....anyway....

 

Irrespective of the reasons why the west does it (right or wrong), it's no surprise that there's so much hate coming this way is it

 

It's a sad, sad state of affairs and my fear is that we ain't even near to half way down this helter skelter cycle of violence

Indeed and in those countries they will be seeing the Al Jazeera equivalent of the Daily Mail. So will hardly be getting a balanced view. Just like many in this country don't. Easy to make people angry when their lives are being destroyed.

Not to belittle the west killing folk in the Middle East but the fact remains that most deaths in the Middle East, Pakistan, Afghanistan are Muslim on Muslim and because the Koran is being interpreted in completely different ways means it'll probably never end, sadly we've imported this here now in ever increasing numbers and the deaths will grow as will the hate and divide and our kids going to have to live with it long after we have gone.
