Assuming Burnham does get selected to be the Labour candidate in Makerfield, it seems around 76,000 people could determine the selection of the next or even future Prime Minister. If Burnham wins, he’ll probably win an election contest whithin Labour. If Reform wins a seat that has always been Labour, I doubt anyone could stop Reform winning the next GE.
