I do like her - I'd probably bum her as well if she'd have me :)

The point about Rayner is that she comes across as thick because of her A-u-L accent.

Certainly she is not educated in the conventional sense, but she has made her career by being consistently underestimated, hence her success as a trade union negotiator.

Granted her accent doesn't help but saying it's her accent isn't close to it

But she has positioned herself whereby she can be viewed as a future party leader by both Corbynistas and Blairites, which takes some doing.

Or as daft as comparing Brexit to trading a 3 course dinner for a bag of crisps.

Always nice to see our impartial civil service in action, unbiasedly enacting the will of the people as expressed by the democratically elected Government.

The envy of the world, and any criticism whatsoever is a disgusting undermining of their unimpeachable impartiality.

Martin Donnelly isn't a civil servant. He left his role as Liam Fox's Permanent Secretary last year, and is entitled to express his inside knowledge as he pleases. Maybe you should look into his claims properly, rather than immediately reaching for your pitch fork and branding him a liar for expressing cynicism over the way Brexit is being handled.

Ex Civil servants can indeed say what they like (as the civil service code has no forward looking conflict of interest provision unlike the ministerial code, precisely because the rules assume they should not be important enough to worry about) - but current civil servants need to stop getting so upset when people point out their partiality and bias on policy where they are clearly seeking to divert or obstruct, when their erstwhile colleagues like Donnelly and O'Donnell are making those accusations look stunningly obvious.

Boris Johnson - is a national embarrassment. The worst front bench politician I can remember. He should be sacked immediately for his latest in a huge list of blunders.

Then clearly you don't remember George Brown.

As Foreign Secretary he (allegedly) approached someone in a purple frock at a reception who replied to him:

"Mr Brown, there are three reasons I will not dance with you. One, you are drunk. Two, this is the Venezuelan national anthem. And three, I am the Archbishop of Caracas."

Say what you like - just don't have a hissy fit when people point out you're not impartial. Civil servants seem to have incredibly thin skins and need constant reassurance that everyone considers them paragons of virtue. They're humans like anyone else - some of them are good, some bad, and none are capable of perfectly impartiality.
