Boris:Β Take back control, get Brexit done, oven ready deal, Brexit means Brexit, build back better.Β WhatΒ does that say to you about vague three word slogans?

Tony Hayres : There’s too many of them?

Boris: That’s one way of looking at it. Another way of looking at it is: people like them, let’s make some more of them.

I simply can’t begin to get my head around this whole Rwanda idea. It seems wrong on more levels than my brain can manage. I’m honestly beginning to think that we really are part of the biggest ever candid camera. It’s like Boris wakes up and thinks, what’s the most fucked up thing I can do today?

When you think about it the world is a really fucked up place when refugees to this country get flown over to Rwanda.Β
Β

How the fuck did we get here?Β

To appeal to the flag shaggers.

Or it's Labour's fault. Obviously.

Presumably anybody who's found to have a legitimate claim will be flown back to the UK once they've been processed? Is that the idea?Β

israel did this

Β

had to abandon it due to the treatment of their potential immigrants

its a fucking scandal

its either taking folk off the scent or theyre serious

either way, it makes me sick

Out of interest, what happens to those who come over on the dinghy's currently?Β

Detention centre before being fucked off back to where they came from or something else?Β

As I understand it, it's only those coming over here illegally that are to be sent to Rwanda (forgive me I've had a busy week and haven't been able to read, digest and form an opinion on the new issue yet)Β

Was Israel's a deal with Rwanda too? I've genuinely no idea.

Is there such a thing as an illegal asylum seeker?

Of sorts yes. Those that arrive on a "dinghy" and don't follow due process are here illegally. You can't just rock up and expect to be able to apply for asylum there's a process to be followed I believe (haven't a clue what that is though)Β

I'm a bit torn on this I have to admit.

It's all about how it's delivered for me.Β

If you're a genuine asylum seeker - being kept safe and sound wherever it might be would be welcome. Providing you're treated humanely (therein lies the rub).

And it's a hell of a deterrent if you're taking the piss.

I've no idea, but I thought you could.

You might be falsely claiming asylum, but I didn't think it was illegal to do so.

But like I said, I've no idea.

I do know this first safe nation bollox is a myth.

I decided to educate myself a bit more on it.Β

You are supposed to claim asylum at a UK border by telling the Border Force staff you want to claim asylum. If you are already in the UK there is a hotline you can ring.Β

There is a set eligibility criteria, one of the stipulations is that you are not supposed to have travelled via a "safe third country" therefore as I interpret it you need to travel directly from your "home" country to the UK and not traipse half way across Europe to get here.Β

There's plenty more info on the government website if you want to read up on it https://www.gov.uk/claim-asylum

So if they’ve not spent months in a dinghy on a one way ticket to get here they are illegal, essentially?Β

Blimey. Seems that way.

So they can only fly here direct from which ever shit hole they are trying to escape from?

That basically rules out most Ukrainians for starters.
