I found a travel club ticket and match ticket in one of those books i gave you

3,50 to bristol rovers

Same for the game

I was getting paid 25 and giving my mum and dad 10

I know it gets mocked now,but TC was a godsend

Travel Club was better than Ribble for sure and when you’re to young to drive or have mates who drive it did the job, can still remember the excitement of rocking up at Burnden for an away game, was giddy as fuck especially when we took a good number of coaches. Was you on TC for the night match at Charlton when a couple TC members got arrested and we had to collect them from Greenwich, what a long day/night that was. Was wondering what year it was.

No, before my time that

My first travel club trip was Charlton though

The 4 1 relegation day

My dad used to drive me down to Burnden for the aways at daft o'clock on a Saturday

Dads are good. :(

I hope you're right pal but you've not said anything there that persuades me.  Have you seen the latest pro independence stats from Scotland?

I thought we had all reached the conclusion that stats/polls etc. are nothing more than interested parties attempting to lead sheep by the nose into voting in a way they might not otherwise as the plebs either want to vote for what they perceive will be the winning side or think "I may as well just vote that way then".

They were wrong with Brexit, wrong with Trump and they'll be wrong here too. I have enough Scots relatives to know that they are a 'canny' bunch and not inclined to cut off their nose to spite their face. England is their overwhelmingly largest trading partner. All of those sassenach taxes etc. cover a lot of public services, dole money and other benefits that they will have neither the foolishness nor the courage to jettison.

Stay calm and expect that just as it was inevitable that there would be a trade deal with the EU, there will be a Scottish rejection of partition from England.

If I am wrong then let them suffer the consequences if they were stupid enough to vote for independence. I don't think I am though.

Think I saw someone say it would be right to lock this thread when Big Ben chimes at 11pm tomorrow.

I called it a day posting on here last Jan/Feb and stayed off for months. This is a good time to knock it on the head for keeps and stick to the Wanderers talk.

I know plenty of remainers who have seen that Project Fear was absolute nonsense even though if there was a referendum tomorrow they might still on balance plump for remain. From the solid common sense folk there's now a recognition that leave voters weren't rabid nationalist swivel eyed loons, racists and thickos after all.

There remains a minority of hardcore bitter remoaners (and they deserve that phrase as opposed to remainers) who are as blinkered as hell.

Enjoyed debating with folk like Sweep, Ani, Kent White and a few others. Even Spider most of the time.

There are three or four others  (past and present) who qualify as the Boltonian answers to twats like Adonis, the Illiberal Undemocrats and John Bercow. They'll still be campaigning for a people's vote, ranting about the bus and worshipping at the sacrosanct alter of the EU and its bureaucracy long after the word Brexit has faded. They will rank in my affections alongside luminaries such as Barry Knight, Mike Riley and John Aldridge.

We can debate all day but one thing is for sure, in the end it was democracy that won. Thank goodness it did. For a time it looked like it wouldn't.

Goodnight Vienna.

The first of many (regrettable) departures I suspect. Been a pleasure sir. Stay safe.

You too. Speak to you on the Wanderers threads as our inevitable rise up the divisions begins to take shape!

🤣 wow the cabal is certainly an over dramatic bunch of queens

All he’s doing is saying he’s going to be on other threads

This is on par with folk who announce n facebother that they’re leaving it....”you ok hun, inbox me?” Etc

Unless this is now an airport of course and I missed the protocol that one must announce their departure from each thread

Deary me. It appears that Cheshire housewives can easily get a bunched gusset over three fifths of fuck all. Even the bald ones ;)

Get up to speed FFS. The cabal is that bunch of lefties Youri like to call 'the cable'. The breeze block building, bread queue and bolshevik brigade.

We of the 1923 Committee are cut from different cloth my good man.

One hopes that the fugue which has taken Spider has not invaded Timperley and beyond.

Toodle pip (with due deference to Breightmet Boy).

Nope. Timed to co-incide with our flight from the EUs orbit and final fulfillment of June 23, 2016. The debate is over. A sovereign UK is moving on. So should you.

I did. if you’d been reading I said months/years ago on here that they need to just get on with it and follow due process as per the referrendum

I can still say that I don’t agree with the premise of it, the campaigns by both sides, and as per my post that other day until I see the effect of the agreement I will not proclaim it a success nor failure.

But as that process is in action, I will give my opinion on facets of it.

Meanwhile you ignore all that and just balloon about winning, 17m losers or whatever.

and then announce you’re off like the Queen.

more like a Queen 🤣

Still bugs me that I cant remember what my first game was.

1975 ish.  I mithered my dad for ages and he took me to a couple of reserve games first, probably to see if I'd behave.  I only know Hugh Curran was playing, he scored and we won.

Reserve game we beat villa 3-0

missed every goal.

But dad.....they said there'd be food shortages, huge job losses and foreign firms would leave Britain after Brexit.

Son, don't listen to those stupid people, plus they won't comment on huge news like this  😉
