But dad.....they said there'd be food shortages, huge job losses and foreign firms would leave Britain after Brexit.

Son, don't listen to those stupid people, plus they won't comment on huge news like this  😉

Superb.

I was in Mark’s and Spencer’s yesterday and I can see why they are flagging behind. They have the wrong target market, an ageing target market at that. Aldi are moving with the times with quality not living off a name

you’re not comparing apples with apples

M&S food is brilliant. Not seen recently but last few years that’s where they’ve made money; they’d been losing it in the clothing etc. Aldi don’t do that; well apart the from random shit they chuck in

If it was more affordable they could afford to lose in on age concern clothing.

What I do spend on a big shop at Aldi wouldn’t get me anywhere at m&s, I prep and cook everything fresh so I’m not relying on m&s fancy meals.
It’s nice as a treat but where’s the retention?

You seem to be missing the point; the food bit does very well (at least did last time I checked a while ago)

If they changes to Aldi style food they’d not make more money. And they’d lose more in the other areas.

it’s brand positioning; not everywhere can be, or should want to be, Aldi

the M&S problem is not that you aren’t retained as a food customer, it’s losing folk buying clothing to Next etc

I'm not arsed (about Aldi rinsing the UK) I'm part kraut - I'm hedging my bets, I'll have my German EU passport soon on account of my granddad that I only heard tales of. I'm relishing any news regarding further enrichment of Däs Vaterland.

I know plenty German girls who'll help me with my orientation and naturalisation should it go tits up here.

And 'get over' what exactly? I abstained - we're a representative democracy, it's their (MPs) job to know issues inside and out then make decisions on our behalf. We shouldn't have referenda - most folk in this country put the pleb in plebiscite, if there was a public vote on capital punishment there'd be hangings again by June, if they put an addendum that executions be open to the public that'd probably pass an' all. I saw merits in both arguments but I thought both campaigns were a disengenuous disgrace. I think I'm fairly intelligent but I admit I didn't have the tools to make an informed choice. So I didn't.

I will say it'd be ironic if The Conservative and Unionist Party cause the breakup of The Union.

I'll miss this thread though - it's better than any sleeping tablet, five minutes reading this last thing and it's lead eyelid time, asleep as soon as head hits pillow and no grogginess in the morning either.

That's just reminded of one of the ERG and his concerns about the balance of trade during our membership of the EU.

Didn’t realise you were one of them.

Didn't they sponsor Sampdoria back in the day?

Like a player sponsorship thing?

Il Duce is sponsored by ERG.

Adolf Hitler is sponsored by BASF.

Generalissimo Francisco Franco is sponsored by Jamon Fascismo BV.

Ivan Bagryanov is sponsored by the Nationalsozialistisch Deutsche Arbeiterpartei.

A pleasant surprise, and calms the fears of folk who thought they'd be sent back to their respective countries, as certain quarters claimed.

Honestly didn't even think many Italians or Spanish folk lived in Bolotn, and shocked with how few Poles there are, as I know loads of them.

And I also think he's a closet bummer.

The signs are blatantly obvious

No doubt he will come on and say he's a fanny magnet, Great Lever God's Gift, Anfield Road Adonis etc.

The puff protests too much

I don’t do anything puffy like formerly have streaks put in my girly barnet (I have a number O let it grow to about 4 then repeat), I latterly don't dye my hair, never had my teeth whitened nor have ever been on a sunbed.

Anyhow, if one doesn't think there's owt wrong with it why would I be bothered if you thought I was gay.

If I was I wouldn't be a closet case I'd be out there bummin' every night - I'd be like the Freddie Mercury or G/L, The Green Lane God's gift to blokes (Anfield Rd pfft...), a cock and arse magnet.

And talking of overcompensation I've lost count of how many times you've used homosexual jibes to a wide variety of posters often in the most innocuous exchanges.

I think your secretly pissed off that I could have an EU passport regardless and that after considering me a 'remoaner' I've explained I couldn't really give a fuck either way, just didn't want to see people go through another (even worse) struggle like the one post 2008.

Personally I'm alright Jack - after near ruination back then I made a big push to get into a 'recession proof' career as never again.

Some other folk are at risk, I am bothered about them because I'm not a (complete) sang froid c*nt.

Now, now. You know that's not what I said. No need to be on the defensive all the time.
