jayjayoghani Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 (edited) Its pretty accepted Remain ran a truly awful campaign full of complacency. Dont think they thought they needed to exploit the uncertainty or questions about how Ireland, NI and GB was to function. Edited February 26, 2023 by jayjayoghani Quote

We're f*****. There are no brussels in our supermarket and we probably couldn't afford them anyway. The missus was planning on doing Turnip a l'Orange for Sunday tea but they're running low on them too. No oranges anyway so it's tinned beans and cabbage again. Quote

But good luck finding one of these bonuses we were promised. All supposed to be loads better, wasn’t it? Still, it’s barely been 7 years, we were told it could take 2, 5, 10, 20 then 50 years to see them. So, you know. Brillz Quote

Lt. Aldo Raine Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 I honestly think things like this are damaging to the social contract. The drop in charge rate for the offence of stalking is shocking, and clearly certain crimes are now de facto legal. It's piss poor and there's no excuse for it. Quote

It was very much a “let’s get out, it’ll all be sorted within a couple of years, mega trade deals, easiest transition imaginabke etc” latterly, Mounts on here and Rees Mogg are saying 20/50 years is fine. They Knew it would be the case. Short memories, long transitions. How is it you’re so bothered by it anyway? You didn’t even vote. You deffo would have voted Brexit though. Flags. Etc. Quote

Brave. I might put my neck on the line here and say that England will win one of the next 50 world cups. Prove me wrong. Leave also said: 1. Trade with the EU will be tariff-free and involve minimal bureaucracy Nice one. That went well. 2. Northern Ireland border ‘absolutely unchanged How’s that going, lads? 3. Take back control on immigration and asylum, and cut migration to the tens of thousands Lol Edited February 26, 2023 by Spider Quote

I read the sentence. But after 7 years, it’s been dogshit and nothing like the claims of the day. If we could all predict the future as accurately as the like of Rees Mogg seems able to, we’d be clearing uk on the lotto every week. Hindsight is great. But decisions have to be made on the available information at that time. Even I know the £350million was bollocks given that we got a rebate of £80million from it straight away. But IMPROVED trading with the EU was a critical promise that hasn’t been kept. At all. Quote

Now it's headline news and folk are panicking because bad weather and floods hundreds of miles away are depriving them of out of season salads. We weren't fucked previously, and aren't now, and moaning continually doesn't change that. It is perhaps a sad reflection on where a section of society is now though. Quote
