fatolive Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 As usual everyone polarised Just spent a bit of time in Ireland. cousin has a farm there , can say with cast iron surety that the shortage is there is the bad weather in Morroco and compounded by the cost of energy to grow and replace the missing quantity. He’s not bothering with any greenhouse crops because of the cost to produce this year. the exact same is true of the growers in the UK , but the uk issues are further compounded by Brexit and lack of supply. so, everyone can find a snippet to suit their argument and I’m sure everyone will but both things are true. He commented: "We have noticed people coming in because they can’t get certain things at their local supermarket, hopefully when they’re here they’ll purchase another item or two as well. He said: “We go to the (wholesale) market every day and we’ve been able to maintain our in-shop stock levels reasonably well. "A lot of the supermarket products come via England so there’s issues there coming via Belfast port. With the wholesalers here that 99% of independent greengrocers buy from, their produce is imported and brought through Dublin so there’s no issues that way.” Edited February 25, 2023 by Cheese Quote

Spider Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Seven years. And they’re still in Belfast cupping the EU’s bollocks for an oven ready deal. But yeah, everyone knew this would happen as it’s exactly what we all voted for. “In seven years, we’ll still be relying on Brussels for a result” Thats what it said on my ballot paper anyway. Quote
