Yes. His lot should pay their taxes like everyone else. I wonder what our very own Eddie Davies got away with too. Together with thousands of others no doubt.

A separate issue from brexit.

If we don't know the financial affairs of MPs why are folk saying they stand to benefit from a bad brexit?

So it does illustrate the point; just more meaningless statements without any foundation. Shit stirring, often from folk who seem to have a chip on their shoulder because someone else may be more wealthy.

Never understood it. Just sour grapes. Always remember the words of a sign somewhere (can't remember specifically) "eat the rich".

Why?

We agree again, tax avoidance is rife and is more likely within, though not limited to, the wealthy classes who have traditionally supported the Torys. I guess the 'benefit' point will be all to do with playing the stock or currency markets where they can significantly gain under the right circumstances and such volatile markets are very prevalent at times as these.

maybe so but there are no guarantees the TBP would do the same with the Torys given that it is likely we will be still in the EU when an election is called. TBP have been quite categorical in their position, if we are not out of the EU with No Deal by 31st October then they will fight the election will "full force". If Johnson fights solely on a No Deal platform he will not get a majority as he will leak votes to the Lib Dems...resulting in a hung parliament every day of the week

The Brexit Party sole aim is to get us out of the EU, Farage is trying to keep the pressure on Boris pre-GE, when the time comes TBP will know which seats they can win from other parties and they will know which seats are safe Tory Leave seats, to stand against Tory would split the the Leave vote, I suspect they would avoid those seats

Hung parliament or not, from a brexit point of view, it doesn't matter. A working majority of 1 is enough.

There will be no rebels remember. He's sacked them all.

Lets see how it plays out over the coming days, off to catch a plane now

Aye. The big fluctuations of the pound etc after the referendum etc have shown just that. Money folk always see an opportunity.

I don't get why so many get wound up by this. Non payment of taxes, yes, rein them in.

Making money; that's what we all try to do, just at different levels, with different levels of success. :) (I'm not getting far shoving a mower through elephant grass that's already pissed wet through)

How very trite. I won't be. I can comment on how much of a shambles it is though.

It is no longer the Conservative party it has been more or less since the 70's.

Being in the Tory party for 49 years counts for nothing either. This is what happens when you have extremists running the party. Shadowy unelected extremists in the background too.

Very unsavoury.

Aren’t they the most diverse government in history ?

Funny, Kinnock is much more acceptable than his father, whereas Benn is an utter cunt. Mind, so was his father, except on the EU.

Benn is a decent orator, though his hiding behind as many motions as possible to scupper brexit does him no justice.

If they'd all resigned their seats and stood again in by elections then no problem.

So no election, and the anti no-deal bill will fail on Friday when the Lords adjourns. Presume MPs will be offered another chance to see if they still want to leave Boris in place without an election and without a damn thing to negotiate with, counting down to no deal.

So, ‘winning Boris’ so far has lost three significant votes, a by-election, his party’s majority, is now cornered by his own strategy and got torn apart by the whole house in PMQs. Is this day four after the recess? Going quite well for him.

A hightlight, in a day of highlights I have to say, was Ken Clarke ripping into Boris and the cabinet, calling it exactly how it is and the weak response back. That and Soames emotional speech...oh and Boris finally being called out for that ridiculous piece he wrote...then there’s the Lord’s passing the bill back by tomorrow for royal assent. In fact, I could go on, just a joy to see parliamentary democracy living and breathing - people putting the good of the country before their careers. The last 48 hours really has been living history.

Yep. Ken Clarke putting Boris in his place was memorable. Total respect to KC.

Exactly how he thinks it is from his perspective
