Johnnyrotten
OK we all expect us to go down in May, but in the short term at least we are still only a win away from possibly getting out of it. The matches at least matter for now. I've a feeling we won't be able to say that in a week's time, and that's a crap situation to be in before the end of Feb. I'm assuming 3 defeats, hope I'm wrong, maybe 1 point to be optimistic. Rotherham play Wigan, Sheff Wed & Reading in 3 of next 4 games and Reading have Sheff W, Blackburn & Rotherham. If we had their fixtures I'd have some expectations instead of impending doom. This is the week we either win a game or we no longer have hope. Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted February 9, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted February 9, 2019 Reading won’t go down imo, they look miles better than the rest of the shit down the bottom, especially if they stop pissing about with it at the back. ill be surprised if it’s anything other than Rotherham and Ipswich joining us

It's 3 out of 4 for the chop & Reading were clearly better than us last week. I was holding on to the hope that we could pull a rabbit ( striker ) out of the hat in the transfer window that might give us a lift, but it's hard to see anyone surviving in the championship with Donaldson & Magennis as the only options as strikers. Not necessarily to stop up, just to not get cut off with 10 games left. I was amazed how poor they were, they effectively didn't score against us or Villa who conceded 6 in their other 2 recent games. And they sold their best player in Jan according to PP. All that passing around at the back us truly abysmal and gives me a bit of hope they won't win many.

Site Supporter MickyD Posted February 9, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted February 9, 2019 There must be a youth team player at least almost ready to step up (I think almost ready is actually good enough to replace the current strike force.) Put most of the youth team in. What's the worst they can do ?? Lose - no different to what we are currently seeing - but at least they will give a shite
Moderators Casino Posted February 9, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 9, 2019 While you are correct that it can't get worse, hall is the great white hope and there's nowt to suggest he improves us

If you don't give them a chance then we'll never know. Hall is to much like le fondre for me he wouldn't prosper playing for parkysaurous, David Lee might have a different outlook though. Parkinson just has to go it's the only chance we have, with him I'd be surprised if we win another game.
Johnnyrotten
Well on the subject of this being a pivotal week, we've got away with stage 1, nobody won and we aren't yet adrift. It feels like the next Rotherham win effectively relegates us given that we don't have a winnable game till millwall on 9th march.

Duck Egg
Rotherham were impressive last night. Coming back from 2 goals down. I can't see us scoring two away goals in a single game again this season. It's us, Ipswich and then a tight finish between the other two imo
Moderators Zico Posted February 13, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 13, 2019 (edited) Reading looked decent enough in the football they were playing against us They're going for style over scrap It's got them 9 points from their last 6 with just 1 defeat, whereas we've got 4 points and 1 win Funny what a new manager can do for you They play sheff utd next but then face Rotherham, Ipswich and Wigan I'm not fancying us to overtake them right now Edited February 13, 2019 by ZicoKelly
Johnnyrotten
Me too. Has to be millwall for me if we are to stop up. Massive bonus that they have distraction of a great draw in FA Cup and obviously they are the only team we still have to play at home. I think its worth noting that Reading are shopping in a different league to ourselves.....
