Read up about fasting and ketosis. Some evidence suggests it’s actually better for the brain and sharpens you up. Better for your cognitive function. I won’t be going short as I’ve excess fat to burn off, the body’s hybrid engine will kick in and use it like it did to the cavemen all those years ago when there was no food available.

20 carbs a day is tough, but I have done that in the past. Broccoli every single day without fail.

Saturday morning weigh-in, dropped 8.4lbs. I’m pretty sure there would have been some kind of water retention on my Monday weigh-in after vast alcohol consumption at FGR. Not intending to weigh regularly, but hey, its given me a little moral boost when I genuinely need it.

Funny how life has a habit of lulling you in to false sense of security of everythings alright, then bosh something happens that fucks everything up.

My Bro, Wingman, business partner and everything in life fell off a ledge 20-25ft up on Friday morning. Id left him on the job having done the top level at 6am and legged it in to town from Cleveleys. He rang me from the deck to come back. Never could imagine how shit the situation was.

Got there as he was in the ambulance, blood all over street, he was screaming in the back, I dived in to hold his hand as they were cutting his boots off. Could see bone sticking out the side/back of his right leg. Never heard anyone scream like that let alone my big brother. Horrendous.

His other leg seemed equally as painful as they cut that boot off too.

As all this was on the main street in Cleveleys I had to stay and get his van and ladders sorted and back to base. He went off with the blues and twos and his Mrs was there waiting at the vic.

I knew nothing else but to carry on working. The full scale of the situation didnt really hit me till later on.

The X-Rays said hed pretty much shattered his right leg with open fractures and even more damming hes shattered his left heel.

Wheelchair bound for the foreseeable and now its a mission for the surgeons to even get him walking again and save his right leg.

They've operated on his right to make it stable, put en external mechano set thing all round it. They cant even think about piecing it all together till the soft tissue etc has sorted itself out.

The left, his shattered heel will be operated on tomorrow.

Went to see him last night and he was doing his best to be ok, but he was in so much pain.

Obviously his health and long-term mobility is the main thing but where it leaves us on a business front is mind boggling. That will be killing him as hes lay there. Hes a complete workaholic and weve both devoted our whole lives to get the business where it is today.

Sure folk just think we wander the streets like rag and bone men hoping for windows to clean but in reality we are limited company, loaded with work and contracts and more importantly two families and two mortages resting on its income. We start on zero every single day. Fuck knows what we are going to do :(

But I suppose that's all trivial when it comes to the boys health.

He was optimistic/naively saying it could be 6 months last night. It was probably the morphine, but fuck me it will be a miracle is hes up walking about in a year. Took me 9 months to be back to work after my ankle fracture 11 years ago.

Anyway sorry for bleating, dont do facebook and that so you cunts are all I've got to play my violin to :)

Fucking hell I bet that smarted.

I'm not sure if I can offer advice, but I know what you'll end up doing is working twice as hard to support him and his family.

No sort of insurance cover?

That’s absolutely horrific. In fact horrific doesn’t even begin to describe it. It’s going to be one hell of a journey back but you’ve all got a good family around you and just got to make sure you’re all there for each other.

If you get to the stage of setting up a JustGiving page or owt then stick the details on here

Sweet Jesus that is fucking awful mate.

Put faith in the medics, they really do perform miracles y’know.

you’re in shock at the minute, 100%. Just take a few days to be with your bro. Ring your customers they’ll understand - a few dusty windows won’t bother anyone when you explain what’s happened. I’d bet most of them will help you out.

But deffo ring round all your customer base. Don’t let some other duckers take advantage of what is an horrendous accident.

Hope they sort him Gonz

That looks horrendous. I really hope he has as speedy a recovery as is possible.

I can't really offer any advice on work but don't panic just yet pal, give yourself time to clear your head and work something out with your customers.

Horrendous that mate and don't underestimate what seeing and hearing all that will have done to you too, taken some time and speak to people about it too if you need to.

The only thing to keep in mind if it offers any consolation at this time whatsoever is with an accident like that it could easily have been immeasurably worse. Life is fragile man.

Im meant to be off to Lanzarote on Wednesday with the family too 🤦‍♂️

First world issue that obviously

Knowing you as well as I do, I know you'll not want to go away, but you really need to.
Your family need the break, you need to get some rest in your legs and come back ready for the fight.

You're going to be very busy when you get back and a recharging of the batteries will do you the world of good.

The current situation is dire, but you taking some time out can't make it much worse, mate.

You know where I am if you need anything

Get yourself there pal, it's paid for and you and the family no doubt need a break. I assume it's going to be full on regardless so take some time our with the family. Just try and keep an eye on the booze intake 👍

Blimey that’s horrific. I’d tend to agree with the others who say that you should go on hol. Doubt there’s too much you can do for your bro at the moment it will be more about what the docs can do. He’ll need you back strong in a while so you probably need a break from the shock of it. Really hope he fully recovers pal

Jesus that's a bad un.

Perversely, I've just come back in after waiting on my drive with my brother and his family for an ambulance. Sister in law popped round, only for her dog to pull her over, and she smashed the back of her head on the ground. Blood, nausea, dizziness the lot.

Fortunately, it doesn't seem so bad.

Wish him all the best, and take care of yourself too.

Fuckin’ ell Gonzo. That’s a shocker. I can’t say if its going to be right or wrong for you to take the holiday or not. I would probably go, but have no idea if that will affect any contracts, etc. Life can be so shit at times.

As window cleaners do you have any kind of insurance policy against this?

Hope he recovers to his previous full health and can walk ok again. It’s like a multi-level headfuck this one.

Also not sure if there are any other lads you can call on to step in and help. Sure if you did put the call out there, you might get some positive response.
