Bands you just don’t get

I thought Kasabian are a bit of a joke band aren’t they? Like an indie Darkness.

Now if you love a good dose of proper rock Thee Oh Sees are absolutely brilliant, bit like an updated MC5s.

Also been listening to The Young ‘Uns a lot - might be a be too trad folk for a lot of people but their lyrics are really punk (which folk was anyway - music from the people who had nothing)

I have to say I have never got Queen, I’ve tried but even Sheer Heart Attack leaves me proper cold. Don’t get me started on Its a kind of magic!

One for Kent played Crooked Rain Crooked Rain in full last week for the first time in a while - just soooo good.

I really don't get following a band - I hear a song/tune/record/single, and it becomes, sometimes after a few listens,  either one you like or one you don't, and I'm not precious who sings it.

An old school friend is a mad follower of David Essex. Was at school and is now. I don't think she missed a David Essex UK gig and probably attended some European ones too.

One of those who the artist knows their name. She's 57 ffs! Mind you, is it any difference than any of us spending a fortune on Bolton Wanderers?

It's good work if you can get it. They've been around for ages, and their lead singer is constantly being interviewed for one thing or another. Their appeal mystfies me.

Wrote some of the best tunes of that era. Can't sing live like!

The Charlatans have a unique sound. They’ve also written some sparkling songs - Tellin’ Stories, How High, Sproston Green to name a small number.

Ian Brown can’t sing , but he sounds fucking ace.

I announced my distaste for Phil Collins at work the other day at work. Someone said “what not even groovy kinda love?”

Like that’s the barometer for good music. Utter shite.
